Abstract Objective： To analyze the value of MRI in the early diagnosis of rectal and anal canal abscess and anal fistula. Methods： Thirty patients with rectal and anal canal abscesses and anal fistula treated in our hospital from June 2018 to June 2019 were selected. All patients underwent digital rectal examination and MRI. The number of detections. Results： The detection rates of intersphincteric， sphincteric and transsphincteric abscesses on MRI were higher than those of digital rectal examination （P <0.05）. Abscess lesions and anal fistula were detected by MRI more than digital rectal examination （P <0.05）. Conclusion： MRI is of great value in the early diagnosis of rectal and anal canal abscesses and anal fistulas， and can effectively improve the detection rate of abscess lesions and anal fistulas. It is worthy of application.
