The person I ….is my international politics teacher named MR Liu in university. Mr Liu has just got his doctor degree. He is very young. The……….is slender west lake. It is located in the central part of Yangzhou. All the people regard it as an important place and feel proud of it. It gets its name from another park in Hangzhou called West lake. They resemble each other but the slender west lake is smaller. When you walk through the entrance into the park, you can see a narrow river flowing along the path. A special thing about this park is the lake. It is connected with the Changjiang river. So the water is very clean. Another special thing is that there are many different styles of pavilions, pagodas and bridges. Many of them used to be former residence of wealthy businessman in Qing Dynasty. Almost every building in this park has a unique story. For example, qianlong emperor in Qing dynasty once visited the park, he said to his entourage” the scenery will be better if here is a tower like the white tower in Beijing. A businessman remembered what he said and asked workers to use salt to create a similar tower at one night. Not surprisingly, the emperor was very happy the second day. Then a real white tower was built after he left. Citizens treat this place as a symbol of our city. It witnessed the long and splendid history of Yangzhou.

This summer I went to the Philipines for a volunteer program called Code Red through an international student organization for one month. We had a team of seven people from four different countries. This program aims to communicate the right knowledge of AIDS to local high school students and university students. We
delivered speeches to these students and talked with them every week. We were busy making ppt and looking for resources. Also, we needed to have lunch and take yoga classes with AIDS patients once a week. I was surprised by the great increase in AIDS infectors in the Philipines. Some of these infectors looked like ladies and some of them were ordinary. In fact, there was not much difference between them and us. To be honest, I had never got in touch with AIDS patients before this trip. It really expanded my outlooks and made me feel how small my world is. This trip was interesting but also challenging. I will never forget the time spent there.
The special meal I had recently was in the Philipines. This summer, I went to the Philipines for a volunteer program called Code Red, which aims to communicate the right knowledge of AIDS to high school students and university students. Also, members in this program and I needed to have lunch and take yoga classes with AIDS patients. Things happened at the second lunch. That day, we put our bags in the office of the non-profit organization who held the lunch. The dining room was beside the office. After finishing the lunch, I went to take my bag but sadly found that someone had touched my wallet and one hundred dollars was stolen. I was very scared and asked the staff for help. It was my first time to be stolen in a foreign country. Luckily, CCTV showed that a man really did this and I soon got my money back from the organization. I think I will forget this lunch.

………was making a cake for my grandmother’s birthday. She just celebrated her seventieth birthday in October. There are many bakeries in my hometown that offers customers the chance to make their own cake. DIY cake shops are really popular nowadays. I decided to make a cake for my grandmother to show my love to her. The cake was relatively easy to make but the hard part was to decorate it. I had to use my imagination and creativity to decorate the cake. I didn’t want it to be a cake that looks like it came from a bakery, I wanted something personalized so my grandma knew that I made it. I thought for a long time about what my grandma likes and finally an idea came to my mind. I made four little men standing on the top. They represented my grandma, my father, my mother and I. I also wrote some birthday blessings. And I coloured the rest part with red. In the end, my grandma spoke highly of this cake and I felt very happy.

around freely. I saw adult pandas climbing trees and baby pandas lying on the ground. There were also pandas eating bamboos. I soon paid the fees for taking a photo with a baby panda. I am actually a fan of pandas. When I was a kid, I thought pandas were the most lovely animals in the world. When I held the baby panda, it lied quietly in my arms. It was so cute and small. I touch its fur and it felt soft. Its black eyes looked quite funny compared with its white body. I also took a photo with the lovely creature.
I think this is an experience I will never forget.
