The TPB series are TRISIL devices especially de-signed for protecting sensitive telecommunication equipment against lightning and transient voltages induced by AC power lines. They are available in the CB429axial package.
TRISIL devices provide bidirectional protection by crowbar action.Their characteristic response to transient overvoltages makes them particularly suited to protect voltage sensitive telecommunica-tion equipment.

TEST PROCEDURE :
Pulse Test duration (tp =20ms):
-For Bidirectional devices =SwitchK is closed -For Unidirectional devices =Switch K is open.V OUT Selection
-Device with V BO ≤200Volt
-V OUT =250V RMS ,R 1=140?.
-Device with V BO ≥ 200Volt
-V OUT =480V RMS ,R 2=240?.
TEST CIRCUIT 2for I H parameter
This is a GO-NO GO test which allows to confirm the holding current (I H )level in a functionaltest circuit.TEST PROCEDURE :
-Adjust the current level at the I H value by short circuiting the D.U.T.-Fire the D.U.T.with a surge current :I pp =10A,10/1000μs.-The D.U.T.will come back to the off-state within 50ms max.
