Unit 9 Have you ever been to a museum?
Good morning, dear judges.
I’m No.2 candidate. Today my topic is “Have you ever been to a museum?” It’s my great honor to present my teaching plan here. My teaching plan consists of 7 parts.
Part 1 Analysis of teaching material
The lesson is a passage from Section B, Unit 9, Book B of PEP Grade 8. The topic is Singapore – A place you will never forget. Such a topic is interesting and will surely arouse students’ learning interests.
Part 2 Teaching aims
I set three teaching aims according to the New Curriculum Standard.
1.Knowledge & skills
Students can master the new words: safe, fear; new phrases: all year round; new sentence patterns.
Students can develop the reading skills, such as skimming, scanning and careful reading.
2.Process & methods
Students can talk about fun places.
3.Emotion, attitude & values
Students can love the world.
Part 3 Teaching key and difficult points
Key points: Present perfect tense with been, ever and never.
Difficult points: How to talk about fun places.
Part 4 Analysis of students
Students in Junior High School have strong curiosity and thirst for knowledge, so I will try my best to enrich the knowledge they want. Still they can’t express themselves fluently, so I will design different tasks for them to use the language.
Part 5 Teaching methods and learning methods
In this class, I will mainly adopt Task-based teaching method and Communicative Approach. The aim is to improve students’ enthusiasm and teach them to learn to play and play to learn. Students will use Autonomous learning method and Cooperative learning method. The aim is to make students active in class.
Part 6 Teaching procedures
Step 1 Lead-in
In this step I will show students a video clip of the documentary film “Glamorous Singapore”and ask them if they know anything about Singapore. The purpose is to improve students’ enthusiasm and lead in the topic.
Step 2 Pre-reading
In this step I will teach students new words and phrases in the passage. Then I will let students look at the title and pictures to predict what the passage talks about. The purpose is to create a relaxing learning atmosphere and facilitate students’ learning of the passage.
Step 3 While-reading
In this step I design three activities.
Activity 1 Skimming: I will ask students to skim the passage and try to find out the main idea of each paragraph.
Activity 2 Scanning: I will ask students to scan the passage and complete the chart. Activity 3 Careful-reading: I will ask students to read the passage carefully and answer these questions:
1. What language is spoken in Singapore?
2. Can you eat Chinese food in Singapore?
3. What’s the great thing about the temperature in Singapore?
In this step students’ reading comprehension abilities will be improved.
Step 4 Post-reading
Students are asked to form groups of four and discuss the question: How many reasons can we find for visiting Singapore? After that, each group will be asked to show the results. The best group will be given a prize. Through discussion, students’ critical thinking ability and cooperative learning abilities will be enhanced.
Step 5 Summary and Homework
I will ask students to summarize what we have learnt and I will make supplements saying that Singapore is a good place to go to and we should love the world.
I will ask students to write a composition about a fun place you have been to. The purpose is to check if students have mastered what we have learnt and cultivate students’ independent learning abilities.
Part 7 Blackboard Design
The blackboard design should be clear, concise and in good order.

I like music that I can dance to . I love singers who can write their own music.” 2）能够自如地谈论自己所喜欢的音乐和音乐家。 3、情感目标： 通过学生谈论对音乐和音乐家的好恶，从而使学生学会欣赏音乐的美。 三）重点和难点： 1、重点 1）本节课的教学重点是学会并掌握先行词为物或者人时，引导词“that ,who ,which”的使用方法。 2）“prefer …to…”的用法 3）掌握有关音乐的词汇和相关的词组，能够比较流利地描述自己喜欢的音乐，运用功能句“What kind of music do you like ? As a result, all of these will be taken into consideration. Part3. Teaching methods According to the analysis of teaching material and students, I will use communicative teaching method, task-based teaching method and situational teaching method. Using different teaching methods can make students more active in class. Part4. Learning methods Learning methods include cooperative method and practice. Students will finish a series of activities to learn related language points. Part5. Teaching procedures OK, this is the most important part of the lesson. I will demonstrate them from the following steps.

阅读课 Good morning Ladies and gentlemen: It`s my honor to be here to show my teaching plan. The topic of my lesson is ___,taken from section__ of unit__ My speech is made up of 5 parts Part 1 teaching ideas According to the constructional aims in english learning in middle school,I will focus on developing the Ss` comprehensive abilities,including reading ,writing ,speaking and listening. By doing this ,I could arise the Ss` interests and lead to the lesson. Step2 while-reading,about 10 minutes 3 tasks will be completed Task 1 , I`ll show some questions by CAI on the screen : 1. 2. I`ll let the Ss read the article as quickly as they can and answer the questions Doing this could help the Ss to master the general idea of the passage. Task 2 detailed reading I`ll let the Ss listen to the tape read the passage again, then each paragraph will be given different question such as: at first paragraph I will give ss a question for T or F ;the second paragraph give a question for selection. Let ss read carefully again and find out the answer and in paragraph 3 I `ll make a chart and let the Ss fill in the chart with correct answers. By doing this ,students can have a deeper understanding, improve reading ability and it is helpful for exam. Task 3 it`s necessary to find out the main sentense of each paragraph by themselves. It`s helpful for the Ss to repeat the passage.
