Teaching Procedures

Step 1: Warming-up and Lead-in

Listen to the music “If I am happy”and let students follow it, guide the

topic to “happy”. Then talk about “happy ” .

T:What will you do if you’re happy?

Example: If I am happy, I’ll go shopping.

出示课件“If I am happy, I’ll….”

Then let students speak freely.

S:If I am happy, I will ….

Step 2 : presentation

1. This is Andrea. If she is happy, she’ll have a party.

Ask students “If you go to the party, what will you do?” Guide students to talk about “going to the party”.

At the same time , give them some ideas : make some food, buy some drinks and snacks, organize party games, play party games…

2. Let students make conversations with the pictures.(出示图片):

what will you do if you go to the party ?

If I go to the party, I’ll ….

If you do, you’ll ….

3. Guide students to find some differences in “If I am happy, I’ll have a party.”Then tell them how to use “if” conditional attributive clause.

Step3 listening practice

1. Let students open the book and finish 1a&1b.Correct the answers together.

2. Let students listen to the tape and finish 2a&2b , then correct the answers.

Step4. Competition

Play games. Divide the students into two groups and let them have a competition. Choose a number that students like, and try to finish the tasks . Who thinks the answer is wrong, who can correct it and can get one chance to win for your group.

Step5. Modal leading.

1. Play a video . Let students talk about it and give some ideas.

T: What do you think of the accident?

T: What will you do if you see an accident ?

S: If I see the accident, I’ll ….

2. Give them my ideas.

“If you have ability, you should help others as possible as you can.”

“If you often help others, you’ll be happy.”

Step5. Practice

Let students do some practice in class.

Let the students go on the competition. And congratulations to the winner.

Let students write something using the knowledge we have learned today (show the pictures) .S pring comes. Everything is beautiful .Make a spring outgoing plan.

本课主要讲述if引导的时间状语从句,由于以前学生未接触过这个语法知识,而且本节课是这个单元的第一课时,因此我以不同形式设置了很多针对这个知识点的练习,如organize a party, competition等,学生们在第一次游戏比赛环节中有错误出现,也正因为如,使得学生们集中精力,对掌握本知识点非常好,因此在后来的练习环节做得比较顺畅。情感目标我选择了“小悦悦事件”,学生们很有感触,不仅贴近现实,而且还恰到好处的练习了本节课的重点句型,学生们发挥的也比较好。但是在组织聚会环节,由于刚刚开始练习本句型,所以学生们稍感吃力,应该再多加一两组例子来引导学生。总的来说,本节课的课堂练习比较充分,学生们基本掌握并且可以熟练运用句型,课堂效果很好。
