三、由于包豪斯所处的历史、政治、经济、社会等环境，本身必然存在历史的局限性。由于它过于重视构成主义理论，强调形式的简约，突出功能与材料的表现，忽视人对产品的心理需求，影响了人与产品之间的情感和谐，机械、呆板、缺乏人情味和历史感，因此受到“后现代主义”的批评。其次，虽然包豪斯是一个设计组织,但是其人员很复杂,特别是先锋派艺术家占了主导地位, “工艺”因素超过“技术”因素,产品设计往往停留在传统产品设计与研究上。对工业和传统工艺之间的关系，仍然带有一些乌托邦色彩，对时代技术条件、机械化批量生产的方式和经济概念趋向一种抽象的美学追求，而很少对实际生活需要进行考察。
