Practice time: on July 7, 2013 to August 10,2013
Practice purpose:we exercise our own ability, grow in practice and learning in practice, enrich ourselves, enhance the oral expression ability so that we can better communicate with people. Get out of the classroom to enjoy the joy.
Time flies, I have ushered in the university's first summer vacation, this also means I am going to be elder sister when the new semester starts .Yeah, last year at this time I was still a high school graduate who was ready to use the whole summer vacation time to release the high school repression, and now is a college student for a year .
However ,since we entered the university, the employment problem has always seemed to be around us .Now society not only needs people who have the knowledge, but also should have some distinguishing ability and other comprehensive qualities.Only rely on knowledge at school, is far from enough.In today's society, the job fair posters are always read "experience is preferred”, but how much social experience can we have as the class students in campus ?.At school, there are too many learning theories almost in every aspects,but in actual work, we may encounter
some problems which we haven't learned in books or the knowledge in books can not help us at all.Sometimes you will find the actual operation is so simple, but the knowledge about it is so hard to study. Is the school divorced from society?Although the college students' life is different from the life in society, finally is one part of the society, this is the undeniable fact. In order to have a higher starting point than others, to have higher knowledge level to deal with all kinds of work problems.As a college student in new century, we should learn how to deal with problems in all aspects that will happen when we step into society, which means that university students should pay more attention to social practice.Then what should I do is to expand my knowledge and broaden the contact area with society to increase personal experience in social competition. I had set foot on the way of social practice. Experience of social practice can help us learn more about society, enrich our knowledge in practice and improve our abilities, also we can think through the social practice to find out our own shortcomings and gaps. Except to gain some social experience,I also want to make this summer more enrich and meaningful, what’s more, testing the knowledge I’ve learned at school .
I had been in Qianjiang for about a month as a tutor .It was a pure chance that I happened to see a message in a QQ group of our school asked
whether there were any schoolmates wanted a holiday job as a tutor in Qianjiang,if anyone wanted can call the phone number listed above.I thought it was great ,so I made a phone call and asked more details.Then I knew it was our school's older brothers and sisters who were going to form a team of tutors to teach students in Qianjiang, I gladly joined them after a discussion with parents.
This was the first time I had left home alone,so I felt very worried about what would happen next. I didn’t know what kind of people were going to work with me .After all,each person has his own ideas and personality, to be with them must be difficult.However, after I got there, I found the elder brothers and sisters were quite good, because they always very cared for me,for I was the only one who was a freshman and the least of them. To get along with them ,I felt it was just like to live in a big family. We lived together and needed to cook by ourselves.Before I got there ,I had done nothing at home.And there was no need to worry about meals,because my father would do it himself,so I didn’t know how to cook.But then I learned how to do it from some elder sisters .Later I often cooked dinner when they had no time to do it.As for our work,just began to start from scratch, we needed to recruit students. The days when I got up at half past six in the morning we would go to the vegetable market to set up a stall and we also went to square in the evening, just waiting for
someone to come to consult. What’s more, sometimes we would go to residential communities to post fliers at night. Though we were very busy and didn’t go to bed until very late , I didn't feel very hard, because I was totally affected by everybody's enthusiasm and devotion.In my opinions, personal ability is limited, only team work can get twice the result with half the effort.Before long, we had got a lot of students, almost everyone would teach three to four student.As is known to all,the beginning of things is always very difficult , but we must have faith and insist on it,eventually there is always an unexpected harvest waiting for us. I won’t forget these days with these elder brothers and sisters.
I stayed in Qianjiang for about a month and taught three students every day, generally worked 6 hours a day . One of them was a pupil , and then a junior middle school student, the another was a senior high school student. Though I am an English major, I'm not only responsible for teaching English. In fact, I needed to teach the elementary mathematics; the junior high school student English, mathematics, physics and chemistry; the senior student English. For the sake of the teaching going smoothly, I spent a lot of energy to do preparations. Although I’ve gained enough knowledge to teach these students , I still hope to be more professional and read many teaching reference and materials , made every efforts to achieve accurately on knowledge. In addition to concentrate on
“what to teach”, I also dared not to be careless in "how to teach". I looked through the education psychology, developmental psychology and other professional books, I also surfed the Internet to look for some teaching experience and tips, on the premise of fully respecting the rule of students' physical and mental development to carry out teaching activities. But to communicate with those students who were much younger than me sometimes I thought there was some kind of special sense of distance between us . Because the elementary student's self-control was not so good and always didn't listen to my lecture, I was the most severe with him .Sometimes I would ask him whether he understood after I taught him,but he would calmly replied, "I wasn't listening."That let me suddenly felt very angry. Then I realized maybe there was a mistake in the teaching methods .Finally I found that actually you don't have to think a lot of when get along with children .Although they sometimes get you upset, the sincere and pure eyes also can eliminate all of your concerns and sorrow. When in the face of a pupil, we need to know that his ability to accept and memorize knowledge has its characteristics and limitations.Therefore, when students meet obstacles in learning ,we should patiently explain and try our best to make them understood.
As a matter of fact, each students is like a gift box, they each have different characteristics, only when you open it can know what is contained inside and bring you a surprise. The pupil likes to do small
production , he also gave me a sound box he made by himself when I returned home; the junior high school student likes to watch anime, also can impromptu said a few words of Japanese lines; the high school student is crazy about a Korean band , so she especially likes Korean, also can say a few words of simple everyday language. The happy days that I spent with them is another good memory in the journey of my life , I wish they could grow up happily and achieve their dreams!
More than a month of hard work is rewarding.When I got my salary, I really felt very delighted, but not because I can get rich, also not because finally ended the days of bitter, but I was paid with results and harvests. No matter how much is the money can not buy what I’ve learned in this period of time .After that I find myself more open and clear. I understand that in the teaching process ,in order to let students master more information and enrich their education background, more communications are needed with the outside world .I paid attention to the communication with parents,too. on the one hand, more in-depth understandings of the situation of the students are very helpful to my teaching . On the other hand, I will give some feedbacks to parents in time to get parents' cooperation and support. At the same time, I also asked a number of my former teachers, their experience gave me a great deal of help.
Through the part-time job as a tutor , I think it cultivates my ability to find, analyze and solve problems. Also I find some of my own shortcomings,which makes me decide to study harder in the later study and leaves some space for me to improve. This practice can not benefit me more. When I returned home, mom and dad said I really changed a lot, became more sensible, filial piety, temper also became better. Social practice let me know that making money is really not easy, also let me understand how hard to work every day. I won't waste money again in the future,because money doesn’t grow on trees .In addition, in the face of increasingly severe employment situation and the changing of society, I think college students should change ideas.We can not simply have summer jobs as a way to make money or to accumulate social experience, the more important thing is to develop our business and social practice ability. Now recruitment units pay more and more attention to the college students’practice ability ,hands-on ability and communication ability .So that we can adapt to the society as soon as possible, as a college student, except to learn some professional knowledge, we should grasp all the opportunities to cultivate our practice ability. In the summer, I learned the importance of combining theory and practice , which will benefit and inspire me greatly in my future life . I clearly understand that only if we put it into practice will we gain deep experience. Knowledge

The holiday part-time job is my first attempt, is also a starting point. Kikujiro's summer --- A Coming-of-age Story Kikujiro's summer is a Japanese movie of 1999. It is a road movie written, acted and directed by Takeshi Kitano. Unlike today’s popular movies with much dialogue and complex plots, this movie has its beautiful calmness. Separated by several chapters, this movie tells a simple story about Kikujiro’s journey of accompanying a young boy, Masao, for searching his mother during the summer vacation. Even though the result is hurtful (the boy finds out his mother has abandoned him and lives with a new family), this funny and touching odyssey presents the audients the best parts of human nature. From each chapter, one can see the growing love and the maturation of the two characters. At the end of the movie, the man totally changes his images of a gambler and becomes responsible and warm-hearted. After his gentle words of love and a series of affectionate actions, the boy is no longer lonely and dispirited. In the movie, the director Kitano uses the odds and absurd actions of a group of people to present his Japanese humor. Most members of the group are treated as the outcasts from accepted social norms. Lonely as they are, they don’t lack of humor. Their humor reflects a comfort from a shared isolation. Kikujiro's summer is not only a journey combined with sadness and happiness but also a part of childhood and a coming-of-age story. As all of our group members are speaking Chinese as the minor language, we are holding some basic knowledge about Asian culture. We chose this Japanese movie, for one reason, we think Japanese culture is similar to Chinese culture which is not hard to understand; for another reason，once entered into the 1999 Cannes Film Festival, this movie is quite famous at international level. From this representative Japanese movie, we can also compare Japanese culture with Chinese and French culture. However, this movie is sometimes quite confusing. Some of us are quite disappointed at the beginning. The two characters don’t have much conversation and the dull boy who always has his head bowed makes the film more boring. I agree that it is not an intricate or fascinating movie that we usually watched in cinema, but this movie has its attractiveness with its funny and subtle storytelling. We have a pair of comic bikers, a lone van traveler, an arguing truck driver, a fun juggling couple, prankish hitchhiking gags, and a rather extensive betting session at the bicycle races. There are occasions for sentimental tears. For instance, when the boy finds his mother has abandoned him, the man tried so hard to comfort the boy, and to cheer him up. Also, when the man takes a side trip to visit his own mother, he says nothing but only looking at his mother's lonely back. Even though the child appears to be a sulky non-smiling little boy most of the time, a boy will be a boy when it comes to play and open up to lightness of the heart. Besides the characters, we also have some discussion about the humor in the movie. One of French students in our group thinks that the main plot and comic effects of the movie are presented in old ways. Some of the comic scenes are bizarre and Japanese humor is difficult to understand. Indeed, Japanese sense of humor is different from French humor or Chinese humor. With the difference of culture and language, verbal humor is hard to be absorbed. People are more attracted by physical humor. In the movie, the comic effects are more presented by the oddness, childishness and absurdity of the man. Sometimes we think he is stupid, rude and makes trouble out of nothing, but sometimes we are touched and amused by his frankness, attentiveness and petty shrewdness.
