I’ve been living in China for a while—long enough to feel the long-term deterioration(退化)of my own native language ability, as well as those of my fellow English speakers. This deterioration can take different forms, one of which is the non-standard use of the words. Below I give some of the common ways to show how Chinese environment badly influences the native speaker’s language ability.
Net bar: In Chinese, they’re called “网吧”. This is fine. We generally call them “Internet caf é”in English. The Chinese seem to think that “网吧”should be translated as “net bar”in English, and many careless foreigners have even been misled by this idea.
Name card: In the English-speaking word, business people have lots of business meetings to discuss business. In these situations, business people exchange specially printed pieces of paper known as business cards. In China, everyone calls them “name cards”, because in Chinese they are called “名片”and “name card”is a more direct translation.
Bean curd: It’s called “tofu,”OK! This English word comes from Chinese. I know all dictionaries sold in China will tell you “豆腐”is “bean curd”in English and that may represent
the two characters nicely, but “bean cued”is more a definition(定义)than a comfortable translation. Yet many foreigners start “bean curd”instead of “tofu”. What a pity!
I think you see the pattern. The normal native way of saying something is replaced by a more unnatural way with other English words.
If you’ve been living in China for a while and find yourself using all of these, you might be on dangerous ground. You’re going to start making a fool of yourself back home. Look out! Don’t let Chinglish destroy your own knowledge of your mother language!

2017 年高校自主招生情况介绍 自主招生是我国高校考试招生制度的有机组成部分，是对现行统一高考招生录取的一种补充，是各高校为了选拔具有学科特长和创新潜质的优秀学生，在高考之后院校独立组织的考试，旨在给表现优秀的学生以降分录取等优惠。一般情况下最多能降至一本线录取(即分数达到当 地高考一本线就可进入该大学)。自主招生考试由笔试、面试两部分组 成(有的学校只有面试)。自主招生考试，可以说是学生高考之后的保险线。当学生高考分数并没有达到全国统招分数线时，可以使用自主招生的优惠政策进入大学。 自主招生政策发展历程 自主招生最早从江苏南京开始。2001 年江苏省颁布了《关于深 化高等学校教育教学管理改革等若干问题的意见》，批准有条件的高校 可以在全国普通高校统一招生考试之前单独组织招考。2002 年，江苏 省的自主招生试点院校增加到了6 所，除东南大学、南京航空航天大学、南京理工大学外，新增南京大学、中国药科大学和河海大学三所高校。2002 年末，教育部召开了自主招生座谈会，从此正式拉开了全国 高校自主招生的序幕。2003 年1 月10 日，教育部下发《关于做好2003 年普通高等学校招生工作的通知》，要求进一步深化高校招生制度改 革，积极稳妥、规范有序地开展高等学校自主选拔录取改革试点工作。同年2 月24 日，教育部办公厅下发《关于做好高等学校自主选拔录取 改革试点工作的通知》，就自主选拔录取试点的招生计划、招生程序和 首批试点学校等具体内容做了详细阐述。20042009 年，自主选拔录取 试点范围进一步扩大，其中2004 年扩大到28 所，2005 年42 所，2006 年53 所，2007 年59 所，2008 年68 所，2009 年76 所，2010 年已有80 所高校纳入部属高校自主招生体系。据了解，2015 年共有102 所试
