Good morning, everyone. I’m very pleased to have a chance to talk

about some of my teaching ideas. The topic of this unit is---- The students will learn ------

1. First , I will talk about my understanding of this unit. This

Unit is talking about -----. Most students are interested in the t

opic. I will lead the students to use their imagination and encourag

e them to be creative .This lesson is the last period o

f Unit--

It?s a reading lesson.

1.Second ,I'll talk about the students. The students of Grade 9.are

not very active. But they have certain vocabulary and reading

abilities and skills. So I will make them finish the reading

tasks by themselves as much as they can to develop the abili

ty of English autonomy learning.

2.Then I'll talk about teaching aims:

(1). Knowledge aims: To learn the vocabularies phrases and target

languages.

(2). Ability aims: To develop students? reading listening speaking and

writing abilities;To train the students? ability of working in pairs.

(3). Emotion aims: To encourage students to be brave to speak English.

Training the competition and cooperation. Build up the 2 correct opinion.

4. Important points: (1).Be able to express words, phrases and sentences in English. (2).Develop the students' reading ability.

5. Difficult points: Be able to retell the text.

6.Now I'll talk about my teaching methods: a.

Communicative[k?′mju:nik?tiv] teaching method;(交际法)b. Audio-visual teaching method;(视听法)c. Task-based teaching method; d. Classified

teaching method.(分类教学法) As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School(中学学英语的主要教学目标) is to

cultivate(逐渐形成) students? abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I?ll mainly use these teaching methods to let the students get a better understanding of the key structures. I?ll give the students some tasks and arrange some kinds of activities, like talking, watching CAI(计算机辅助教学), and reading in roles.(如时间紧张,这一段可以省略) In a word, I want to make

the students the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as director. I also hope to combine the language structures with the language functions 3 and let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language. 7. Next I'll talk about the studying ways 1. Teach the students how to be successful language learners. 2. Make situation and provide meaningful duty,

encourage the students to study the text by themselves.

8.Teaching steps As this lesson plays an important part in the English teaching of this unit, I have decided the following steps to train their abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, especially reading and speaking abilities.

Step1 Warm-up and Lead-in First, I will divide the students into

groups .while I am playing a piece of beautiful music to make students happy.

I will tell them we?ll have a PK called …getting apple“ if your group get a score ,I?ll let you get a higher step.

Step 2. pre-reading .After a while ,I play some pieces of voice and ask students to guess : what happened? For example ;play some scary voice of

strong wind ,shaking hands . after listening ,we will have a free talk to show new words ,and I will show these words by PPT. After finishing ,I will ask a student to teach new words for me .then I will correct his /her mistakes in pronunciation. ( In this way, they will know something about today?s

lesson ..Get them to warm up. ) After teaching new words , I will present picture of 3a by PPT ,ask students to read the picture ,talk some about

it .for example; according to her expression can you guess “what happened?” then ,lead into new reading lesson.

Step3 while-reading. 1.fast – reading . give students 3 minutes to read the passage quickly and circle the best title for it. Then ask

students to check the answer . when students answer ,please give the reasons and encourage them to speak English as much as they can .

(After seeing the pictures, the students will know what they are and they can learn them quickly and easily.)

2. Play the tape recorder. Let the students listen and imitate the text. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation. Then finish the easy exercises of 3b.

Step 4 ,scanning.ask students to read the article carefully .this time I will give them about 10 minutes. After reading ,finish 3c.when check the answer with groupmates, I will show the blank of 3b on the screen .when students answer me ,please say the reasons .I will show the article one paragragh by one to find out the reasons in the article.then ask them to read together .( This step can make the students get the general idea of the text. At the same time let the students have a chance to practice their reading abilities.)

Step5,post –reading. Group-work

I will give them a paper of a dialogue about this article .a, ask them to fill in the dialogue ,

In the dialogue ,one is Victor,one is his wife ,one is his parents ,one is Victor’s neighbor Helen , one is a policeman ,one is a reporter. b ,then check the answers in group .

c, read the dialogue freely ,and role play their dialogues.

d, ask some groups to act their dialogues.

Step6 .Summary and Homework .Tell the students homework: read the article
