(2017·北京) D

Say you're sitting around with some friends playing video games and someone mentions a game that happens to be one of your favorites. “Oh, that game's easy. So not worth the time,”one of your friends says. The others agree. Although you enjoy the game quite a lot, not wanting

to argue with them, you go along with the crowd. You have just experienced what is commonly referred to as peer pressure(同伴压力),also called peer influence. You will adopt a certain type of behavior, dress, or attitude in order

to be accepted as part of a group of your “peers”. As a teen, you are likely to have experienced the effect of peer pressure in a number of different areas.

We are all influenced by our peers at any age. For teens, as school and other activities take you away from home, you may spend more time with your friends than with your family.

As you become more independent, your peers naturally play a greater role in your life. According to Dr. Casey from Cornell University, teens are very quick and accurate in making decisions on their own and in situations where they have time to think. However, when they make

decisions in the heat of the moment or in social situations, their decisions are often influenced by factors like peers. In a recent study, teen volunteers played a video driving game, either alone or

with friends watching. The researchers discovered that the number of risks teens took more than doubled when their friends were watching, compared with when they played alone. This shows that teens may find it more difficult to control risky behavior when their friends are around, or in situations where they are extremely angry.

Just as people can influence us to make unwise choices, they can also influence us to make

good ones. A teen might join in a volunteer project because his or her friends are doing it, or get good grades because his or her friends think getting good grades is important. In fact, friends often encourage each other to study, or try out for sports.

While we are always influenced by those around us, the decision to act or not is up to us. So when it comes to decision making, the choice is up to you.

52. According to the passage, Dr. Casey probably agrees that Teens ______.

A. like to play driving games with their friends

B. prefer situations where they have time to think

C. may take more risks when their friends are around

D. are slow in making decisions when they are on their own

53. The words “in the heat of the moment” in Paragraph 4 probably mean __________________".

A. when teens avoid possible risks

B. when teens trust their judgment

C. when teens lose control over their anger

D. when teens give consideration to situations

54. What can we learn from the passage?

A. Teens are eager to be different from their peers

B. Peer pressure has effects on both teens and adults

C. Peer pressure does more harm than good to teens

D. Teens think it challenging to get good grades at school.

55. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?

A. Peer Pressure: Is It Necessary to Deal with It?

B. Peer Pressure: Is It Possible to Get Away from It?

C. Peer Pressure: Its Benefits to Teens and Friend Making

D. Peer Pressure: Its Influence on Teens and Decision Making

D题材:情感、情绪

When meeting strangers, we usually notice their hair, skin colour and clothes. We like to group those things we don’t know by comparing them with the things we know.

So what’s wrong with this? For example, we think that short boys can’t possibly be good basketball players. The girls who love to be dressed up can’t be excellent students. Or we think shy students can’t be good at giving speeches. These are typical (典型的) examples of stereotypes.

Stereotypes make people form a wrong opinion about others at first sight. In fact, it takes a lot more than just looking at a person to know and understand him or her. The following is my story.

One day, it was snowing, but not heavily. Before class, I collected all the exercise books and sent them to the teachers’ office. The exercise books looked piles in my arms, so I could hardly see the ground. Suddenly, I slipped over (滑倒) and dropped all the exercise books I was carrying.

I tried to stand up but failed, I was about to pick them up when I saw boy coming towards me, it was Mike.

Mike and I had been classmates for over 2 years, but we had never shared more than 5 sentences together. He was a boy with few words, but I liked talking. We were totally different.

I didn’t like him and didn’t want to be seen at that moment.

“Anything serious?” His words brought me out of thoughts. “I saw you sitting on the ground from the back window, so I rushed here. Let me help you!” he helped me up and picked all the exercise books up.

Seeing this, I was so moved that I couldn’t say a single word.

We walked towards the teachers’ office and this time, he talked a lot to me. I found quite a different Mike.

I took a deep breath and said to myself: “I nearly make a big mistake-judging (判断) Mike only by his appearance.”

26. Which of the following is NOT mentioned as typical of stereotypes?

A. Dishonest children can’t be others’ true friends.

B. Shy students can’t be good at giving speeches.

C. Short boys can’t possibly be good basketball players.

D. The girls who love to be dressed up can’t be excellent students.

27. Why did the writer dislike Mike at the beginning?

A. because the writer didn’t know Mike at all.

B. Because Mike didn’t hand in his exercise book.

C. Because the writer thought they weren’t the same type.

D. Because Mike didn’t help the writer collect the exercise books.

28. The writer probably wants to tell us _.

A. we’d better not go outside on snowy days.

B. we should get along well with our classmates.

C. people shouldn’t judge someone at first sight.

D. people with different personalities can’t be friends.

26. A【解析】综合理解题。通览整篇短文,可知B、C、D三项都出现在了文章里面,A项“不诚实的孩子不可能是别人真正的朋友”没有出现。故选A。

27. C 【解析】细节理解题。根据第六段He was a boy with few words, but I like talking. We were totally different.的描述可推断作者认为他们不是一个类型的人,所以开始时不喜欢对方。故选C。

28. C 【解析】主旨大意题。根据故事描述及最后一段I nearly made a big mistake—judging(判断) Mike only by his appearance.可知作者想告诉我们不要通过第一印象来判断某个人。

“Happy Birthday” has become a cake with lit candles. And “I’m happy” has become a smiling face. Have you ever used emojis? The answer will probably be “Yes”. Nowadays more and more people use emojis to communicate online.

Emojis have been warmly welcomed since they were invented in the 1990s in Japan. According to a survey of a mobile technology company, 6 billion emojis are used in text messages around the world every day. It is reported that the icon was used often, 20 percent of all emojis used in the UK and 17 percent of those used in the US. It became the most widely-used icon in 2015.

Emojis are now used as a new expression without language barriers, people can understand each other more easily even though they use different languages. Emojis are popular all over the world, especially among the young people, who were born between late 1980s and early 2000s,

because they welcome new technology and new things. And they think emojis are convenient and show meanings beautifully.

Since the young people became the biggest part in the American workforce, emojis have been more accepted in the workplace. For many people, the tiny pictures also show that the users are part of mainstream society. In the digital age, most people communicate and show their personality with emojis many times every day.

But not everyone thinks the use of emojis is a good thing. Jonathan Jones of The Guardian said that the success of emojis is “a step back for humans”, hurting people’s ability to use languages.

My best friend Jenny and I got to the mall for shopping. She held up a white sweater and matching skirt. “Do you like this?” she asked.

“It’s great,” I said. Jenny nodded and continued looking while I moved about, touching the beautiful clothes. “1’ll try this on,” Jenny walked towards the dressing room. After a while, she came out in the outfit (一套衣服). She looked beautiful.

I sighed. Part of me wanted to say how good she looked, but another part stopped the words coming out. Jenny was in such good shape that she’d look good in the outfit. Sometimes, I regretted choosing a best friend who was so pretty. God, why can’t I be the one with the rich parents and the great look? More and more, I was envious (妒忌的) of her.

“Well, Teresa, what do you think?” Jenny asked more than once. “Do you like it?”

The outfit looked great on her, but I lied. “Not really. I think you need something with more colors.”

“You think so?” Jenny said doubtfully.

“Just believe me. We’ll find something better,” I told her, pushing her back into the dressing room. “You just can’t buy the first thing you see.” I did my best to get Jenny out of the store, away from that outfit. As we left, Jenny gave the sweater one last look.

Just down the mall, we passed a yogurt place. “My treat,” Jenny said, pulling out her wallet.

I could never say no to chocolate, so we got some and sat down at a table. As Jenny talked without stopping about a million things, I thought about my feelings toward her. Those feelings weren’t kind.

Sitting there, ▲ Jenny was attractive (吸引人的) not just because of her good luck, but more because of her kindness. Treating me to chocolate was far from her only show of generosity. She also let me drive her car and borrow her clothes.

Finishing our chocolate, we headed for the next clothing store. “Look at that red sweater,”Jenny said as we passed the window. “It would be perfect for you. Soon maybe you’ll have

enough by saving your babysitting money to buy something like that.”

A few minutes earlier, all I had heard was about saving my babysitting money. I had hated the fact that Jenny could ask her parents for anything, and they’d buy it for her. This time, though, I heard more. I heard the voice of someone who loved and cared me for who I was. I needed to express the same to her.

42. Teresa felt ______ when Jenny came out of the dressing room in the new outfit.

On Sunday 23 April, more than 30.000 people joined in the 2017 London Marathon, running 26. 2 miles around the city center.

The London Marathon has taken place every year since 1981. At the first one, just 6,225 people completed the course, and since then it has grown into one of the most important sporting events in the world. Each winner receives $ 500,000 in prize money.

However, most marathon runners are not professional(专业的). They run to raise money for charities or just as a personal experience. Many people do fun things to make themselves stand out, like wear silly clothes or do things instead of just running.

For example, Tom Harrison took three days just to reach the halfway point, as he was crawling on his hand and knees dressed as gorilla (猩猩), trying to raise money and attention for ‘The Gorilla Organization’.

One exciting part from this year’s race was the story of Jackie and her husband, who got

married on the morning of the marathon. Then they both ran the race, with Jackie doing it in her wedding dress! They were running to raise money for cancer charities, as Jackie was diagnosed (诊断) with cancer three years ago.

Matthew Rees was another runner to inspire (激励) people, as he stopped just before the finish line to help another runner run the last 200m. They did not know each other before, but Matthew saw that David was too tired to finish the race and wanted to help him finish.

When did you last say “I love you” to your father? If you can’t remember, then you can get the chance this Father’s Day on June 18.

Generally compared to a mother’s gentle love, a father represents(代表) qualities like independence(独立), confidence, courage and adventure.

42. C【解析】细节理解题。题干意为:以下哪项不正确?A项:电话服务是免费的;B项:他们可以保守秘密;C项:除了星期天外,你可以打电话。由第三段第一句We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.可知一周七天热线都是开放的,所以C项说法错误。

(2017?山东枣庄)A

Last year, I went to Beijing Qizhi Special Education School for community service (社区服务). Before we took the bus, my friend asked me a question: “Why are you here?” I did not know how to answer the question.

The school was not far from my school, but it looked like it was in a different world.

A group of children were waiting for us. A boy walked toward me. He held my hands and pulled

me to the ground. I kissed the earth and tasted nature.

I could not understand what he was doing at first, then I was very angry. Though I was very angry, I controlled my anger.

A teacher stopped this awkward (尴尬的) silence when she shouted at the boy. “What are you doing right here, right now?” she said “You will never see your mom again if you keep doing this. Now, say sorry!”“Sorry,” he cried fearfully and nervously. I said nothing, but I realized something about this child. After lunch I asked the teacher for information about the child’s parents.

She said that the child was very different from other students because of an illness. His family could not afford to treat him. He needed the kindness of his family, but they had abandoned him. So he depended on the support from the teachers and community service workers like us.

I suddenly realized I could answer the question my friend asked me at the beginning of the day.

Community service workers help others and make everyone feel better. There are so many people in the world that need help. Playing with lonely children may not make a big difference. But it can light a corner in the children’s hearts, making them know they are loved by people.
