Heights 高度

By Longfellow

The heights by great men reached and kept

Were not attained by sudden flight,

并非一蹴而就;

But they, while their companions slept,

Were toiling upward in the night.

Thank you for comforting me when I'm sad

Loving me when I'm mad

Picking me up when I'm down

Thank you for being my friend and being around Teaching me the meaning of love

Encouraging me when I need a shove

But most of all thank you for

Loving me for who I am.

Romanticism

(Originally In English)

Romantic doesn't mean only the loving atmosphere between two people, like a man and woman.

Romantic is something that is very sacred, very noble, very poetic in the air,

which we ourselves generate from within our heart when we feel very loving, very peaceful, very kind,

very gentle, and we feel so good about everything, about everyone around us.

We walk slowly, we talk gently, we think very,

very nobly and poetically.

That's what I call a romantic atmosphere.

1. Nothing gold can stay by Robert Frost Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf, So Eden sank to grief. So dawn goes down to day, Nothing gold can stay. 2. The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. 3. The farthest distance in the world By Tagore [t?'g?:] The farthest distance in the world is not between life and death but when I stand in front of you yet you don't know that I love you The farthest distance in the world is not when I stand in front of you yet you can't see my love but when undoubtedly knowing the love from both yet cannot be together The farthest distance in the world is not being apart while being in love but when plainly can not resist the yearning yet pretending you have never been in my heart

——(王之涣《登黄鹤楼》) 如:波西·比希·雪莱的《Music,When Soft V oices Die》(《轻柔的声音寂灭后》): Rose leaves, when the rose is dead, Are heaped for the beloved’s bed; And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone, Love itself shall slumber on.

To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there 虽然在这两条小路上 Had worn them really about the same, 都很少留下旅人的足迹And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, 但我知道路径延绵无尽头I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh 也许多少年后在某一个地方Somewhere ages and ages hence: 我将轻声叹息把往事回顾Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, 一片森林里分出两条路
