在托福独立写作中，我们拿到一个题目上的时候，我们第一反应是要支持这个观点还是要反对这个观点，而且这个表态的话应该放在文章首段的最后一句，这样我们写作文章的主题就有了。
那么接下就是我们为什么要支持这个观点了(或者是反对这个观点)，也就是一些为什么这么认为?这样做有什么好处?这样做有什么不好的?这里就需要考生们脑洞大开。一般解决以上几个问题，并附上一些例子加以说明，那么你的托福独立写作文章就非常完整了。
对于这几个问题，我们可以直接用一句话写在支持段的第一句表述出来，这样我们的分论点也就有了。在这里我们要注意的是，在分论点的叙述中，我们要知道这些分论点都是平行的原因或者好处，一定要跟主题形成因果关系，并且在论点之间不会相互重合。
