People all know that ―time is money.‖ However, a young man named Cao Yingliang from Shenyang has opened a slow *delivery company. This special delivery company offers the same service as the usual delivery companies. The biggest difference is that customers can decide when the letters are sent: It may be ten days later; it may be five years later.

The company is in a small house. Outside the house, there is a board. On the board, there is a *snail with lots of letters walking to a green mailbox. The road the snail

She moved China!

Though blind, Sabriye Tenberken from Germany has

beautiful eyes. There is *strength and deep love in her eyes

that can move people. It is she who has invented *Tibetan

Braille and built a school for blind children in Tibet.

Born in 1970, Tenberken lost her eyesight when she was

12 years old. With hard work and strong will, she entered the

University of Bonn, where she studied English, computer

science, and the Tibetan language.

She later learned that there was no Braille for blind

Tibetans, so she developed the first Tibetan Braille *system. In 1997, she traveled to Tibet for the first time. The next year, she built the first school for blind children in Lhasa –Tibet Training Center for the blind—with the help of her husband who always *supported her behind.

However, when the school opened, there were only six students; many families didn’t want others to know that their kids were blind. However, Tenberken didn’t give up. She visited those families and tried to *persuade the parents to send their kids to her school.

Later on the school had more and more students, changing in age from five to eighteen. Tenberken designed different courses for them. The younger kids started with learning basic life skills such as finding the way, washing clothes and so on. And the older were taught some useful skills such as *massage. What all of them must learn are Tibetan, Mandarin and English. They also learn how to use a *typewriter that was designed especially for the Tibetan blind.

Some of the students from her school have opened their own massage *clinics; others have become *interpreters; and still others have become singers. They learned not only how to read Tibetan Braille from Tenberken, but also courage and how to overcome difficulties.

Though the kids will never know what Tenberken looks like, they all realize her love and kindness.

Hi, my name is Christina Baum. I’m a fourteen-year-old German student.

I'm writing to tell you about an experiment we are doing at school with our

science teacher. At the beginning of this school year, Frau Keller showed us

films and we read articles about problems in the environment.

One day she said, "I want to know what you think. Please don' t tell me

what we should do or must do. Tell me what each of you will do to protect

the environment."

She asked us to choose a *topic, make a weekly plan and tell the class

about it. Then we had to do things to be "green" and write a report about our success. Some students said that they thought it was impossible for a single person to *contribute to the protection of the environment. Someone else said that people who work on science should work harder to find new ways to produce energy.

Frau Keller said that it is everyone's job to care for the health of the planet. After the first week everybody in class was excited about the project and wanted to continue to improve their results. 初三化学第一次模拟考试质量分析初三化学备课组 一(对试卷的整体评价: 本次试卷共有四个大题:分别为选择题、填空题、实验题和计算题。试题特点:题型稳定,难度中等,学科重点突出,注重对基础知识、基本技能和基本方法的考核,同时试题同样注重思维逻辑性和严密性。题量特点:适中。但由于新课刚结束还来不及进行系统的复习,所以本次考试存在一定问题,成绩不够理想。 二、从试卷答题情况分析,存在问题: 1、基础知识不扎实,重要的知识点理解不清,几大化学用语的书写急需强化。例如分子、原子的概念,物质的名称、俗称、化学式,质量守恒定律的运用,金属活动性的使用,化学反应的类型,化学用语、化学方程式的书写等等,都存在很大的问题。 2、获取新信息的能力和整合新化学知识的能力有待提高。例如第一大题的 3、7小题,第四大题的23小题等,有一半以上的同学全部答错。 3、语言描述不够全面、严密。如学生分不清结论与现象。总把现象描述成结论。 三、从考试成绩分析: 本次考试总分为60分。考试成绩中学生两极分化及其严重,满分的全校有2个,50分以上55人,但20分以下的人数为34人,考个位数的有3人。不及格人数有116人,占比45.8%。在班级情况看,汤校长任教的三(1)班分数遥遥领先,平均分39.3分,其余四个班成绩差不多,在35分左右。 四、下阶段措施:
