Whether in the workplace or on the football field, effective teamwork can produce amazing results. However, working successfully as a team is not as easy as it may seem. Effective teamwork certainly does not just happen automatically; it takes a great deal of hard work. There are a number of factors that must be in place to make a good team.

Effective leadership is one of the most important factors of good teamwork. The team’s leader should possess the skills to create and preserve a positive working environment and inspire the team members to take a positive approach to work. An effective team leader will promote a high level of spirit and make them feel supported and valued.

Communication is a vital factor of a team. Team members must be able to articulate(清晰表达) their feelings, express plans and goals, share ideas and see each other’s opi nions.

Conflicts will arise no matter how well a team functions together. The best way to deal with conflicts is to have some organized methods of handling conflicts. Team members should be able to voice their concerns without fear of offending others. It is often advised that the team leader help work out their differences without taking sides and trying to remain objective if possible.

The team leader must set a good example to create good teamwork. In order to keep team members positive and committed and motivated, the team leader herself / himself needs to show these qualities. The team turns to the leader for support and guidance. So any negative words or behaviors on the leader’s part can be disastrous.

Regardless of what type of work you are in, knowing how to effectively work on and with a team is going to be extremely important to your success and that of your team.

Dear Seth,

You’re only three years old, and at this point in your life you can’t read, much less understand what I’m going to try to tell you in this letter. But someday, when you’re ready, I hope you will find some wisdom and value in what I share with you.

Life can be cruel

8 They’ll tease you or try to hurt you because you’re different.

There’s not much you can do except learn to deal with them, and learn to choose friends who are kind to you and who make you feel good about yourself. When you find friends like this, treasure them, spend time with them and love them.

Be open to life anyway

Yes, you’ll find cruelty and suffering in your journey through life, but don’t let that close you to new things. Don’t retreat from life, don’t hide or wall yourself off. 9 Life isn’t a competition

You will meet many people who will try to do better than you, in school , in college, at work. To them, life is a competition.

But here’s the secret: life isn’t a competition. 10 Learn to enjoy the journey and make it a journey of happiness, of constant learning, of continual improvement, of love.

11

If there’s a single word you should live your life by, it should be this: love. It might sound corny, I know, but trust me, there’s no better rule in life.

Love not only your loved ones, but your neighbors, your co-workers, strangers, your brothers and sisters in humanity. And most of all, love yourself and learn to love yourself for who you are.

12 You are starting out on an unknown, tiring, scary, but ultimately incredibly wonderful journey, and always remember I will be there for you when I can.

A. It’s a journey.

B. Life is full of fun

C. Love should be your rule

D. Finally, know that I love you and always will.

E. Last, think that you are a wonderful human being.

F. Be open to new things, new experiences, new people.

G. There will be people in your life who won’t be very nice.
