1.Some students prefer to have classes in the morning and do their part-time jobs in the evening. Others prefer to have classes in the evening and do their part-time job in the morning. Which do you prefer and why ?Use specific reasons and examples to support your response .

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to have classes in the morning and do my part-time job in the evening. First of all, as a student, attending courses is of the first importance. Thus I should give priority to class rather than part-time job. If I do my part-time job in the morning, I will probably feel exhausted in the evening and pay no attention to my teacher in classes. I mean, studying in the morning is much more efficient than in the evening. So, I will choose to attend classes in the daytime.

2.Some students prefer to review their notes regularly; while others prefer to review their notes just before the test. Which do you prefer and explain why?

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to review my notes regularly rather than just before the test. First of all, if the test is around the corner, having reviewed my notes regularly will not only diminish the time I spend on preparation for the test, but also probably get me a higher grade than those who review their notes just before the test. In addition, getting a good score is not the primary purpose of learning. Studying is for increasing one’s knowledge. And only through reviewing the note regularly, will a student achieve steady progress in study.

3.Some university students would prefer to study full-time; others would prefer to study part-time. Which do you prefer and why?

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to study part-time rather than full-time. First of all, studying full-time is too stressful for me. Studying part-time will provide me with more time to review the lesson, and thus I will have a deep understanding of the knowledge. And, studying part-time can also provide me enough time to put my knowledge into practice. For example, my major is marketing, which is subject of the character of practice. And it is important for me to get a relevant job in the spare time. So, I prefer to study part time.

4.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Students should always study in quiet places .Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.

As far as I am concerned, students do not always need to study in quiet places. First of all, although it's common sense that quiet place is ideal for students, sometimes noise can not be avoided. For instance, there may be some people getting in and out of the study room in order to answer the phone or go to the toilet. Therefore it is very essential for students to bear some noises. And also, it is not the environment, but the mind that plays important role in learning efficiency. And Mao was so concentrated on his book that he didn’t affect by the noisy environment.

5.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important lessons cannot be learned in classroom. Use specific reasons and examples to support your response.

I agree with the idea that the most important lesson can’t be learnt in class. First of all, I regard the ability of solving problems by oneself as one of the most important lessons. However, what we are taught in classroom is just the knowledge written in books, but not the way to deal with problems. And also, I think some important skills can only be obtained through practice. For example, swimming is an important lesson, which cannot be taught in classroom, but only by practicing it on oneself.

6.Some people think that university students should stay in the classroom. Others think that they should do more practice exercises outside classroom .Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I agree that students should do more practice exercises outside classroom instead of staying in the classroom all the time. As far as I am concerned, I prefer the Internet-based teaching. First of all, online courses are much more convenient than traditional classroom courses. You don’t have to attend the class at the specific time and a place. Whenever signing up on the Internet, you can begin the class, and your learning schedule is all up to you! And also, online courses save resources. Through the Internet, a professor’s lecture can be shared by a great number of students, even thousands or more. What’s more, no matter how many students are taking the class, there is no need to worry about being interrupted by others students on the online courses!

First of all, since we enjoy quiet environment, which is ideal for learning knowledge, in the class atmosphere, we will concentrate on the reading materials and have a great efficiency. 9.Some students prefer to go to universities or colleges in their own cities or towns. Other students prefer to go to universities or colleges in new cities or towns. Which do you prefer and why?Include details and examples in your explanation.

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to attend university in my own city. First of all, there is a very good university in my city, which is one of the best universities in my country. The university will not only provide me excellent tutors, but also offer me a beautiful campus environment. And also, when I was in middle school, I studied outside my city and used to be away from home. So, I hope I can have more time to get together with my family when I enter the university. In all, I will choose to go to university in my own city.

In all, I’d like to listen to lecture in classroom. 11.Some students prefer to study in big city. Others prefer to study in a small city. Which do you prefer and why? Include details and examples in your explanation.

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to study in a small city rather than a big one. First of all, I put a premium on my health, and I think there is much more pollution in a big city than a small one. And also, contrary to the big city, a small city provides me a peaceful and quiet life without much emotional stress. The big city is always full of crowds, skyscrapers and heavy traffics, but, in a small city, there may be lush forests and mountains. And finally, there are too many temptations in the big city, such as big shopping malls or amusement parks, which can draw my attention away from study.

12.Some students prefer to study in the classroom. Others prefer to study somewhere else. Where do you think students should study in? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

14.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The best way to learn lessons is making a mistake. Use specific reasons to your answer.

I do agree that the best way to learn lessons is making a mistake.

There is an old saying that mistake is the mother of success, and I cannot agree with the well-known saying any more. First of all, people learning lessons from a mistake will apparently avoid making err again. And also, making mistakes offer great opportunities to learn more. For example, Tomas Alva Edison, who was a great scientist, had made thousands of mistakes before he finally found the best material for

a bulb. In all, I think making a mistake is the best way to learn lessons.

15.It has been said that "Not everything that is learned is contained in books." Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience and knowledge gained from books. In your opinion which source is more important? Why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

As far as I am concerned, knowledge gained from experience is more important than that from books. I admit that both the two kinds of knowledge are useful. But, in my opinion, knowledge gain from experience is more impressive than that from books. And also, I regard the ability of solving problems by oneself as one of the most important lessons. However, what we are taught in classroom is just the knowledge written in books, but not the way to deal with problems. First of all, since both our family and friends concern and love us, they share with us all life wisdoms accumulated from their experiences. And also, it will cost more time and energy to learn about life totally through personal experiences, leaving us a lot of regrets about the faults in our past time.

Thus playing team sports may teach children be cooperative and get along well his partners. And also, in most cases, team sports inspire children to compete for the success. Every team member has to spare no efforts in order to win the opponent team. As a result, the senses of competitive will form in children’s minds.

First of all, with experiences accumulated in their teaching career, experienced teachers can offer the suitable advice for different students while they across difficulties. And also, experienced teachers are more skilled at dealing with students, and they will create a good class atmosphere, which will help students to study more efficiently

20.Some people prefer to keep reading a new book until it's finished. Others prefer to stop reading whenever they lose interest. Which method of reading do you think is better and why?

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to stop reading whenever I lose interest. First of all, giving up reading the book I am not interested in any more can save me a lot of time. Since I have a greater efficiency in reading the book I am interested in, I will abandon a boring book, so that I can carry on to read a new one. And also, I don’t think only by

reading a book thoroughly, can we grasp the book knowledge. Sometimes, we may gain the knowledge we want to learn from only part of the books, and the rest contents are not so important to us. In these cases, it is better to stop reading whenever you lose interest.

Other people prefer to move to different places. Which do you prefer and why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your response. sample answer: I prefer to move around a lot instead of settling in one place because first of all I believe most people’s growth comes with the changes in their lives. For example, after finishing my junior high school in China, I decided to go to Canada. This gives me an opportunity to be instructed in an entirely different manner. I’ve become a more independent thinker and learned how to look at things from different perspectives. If I were still studying in China, I quite doubt I would learn all this. Secondly, I think that by moving around, people are able to experience diverse circumstances which give them new experiences and broaden their views, and thus they can get more comprehensive understanding of the world, the society and life itself. 090403NA Speaking Question 1 童年学到了什么东西? What charactereristics do you think a good teacher should have?(06. 3.3; 07. 11.3考题)

Sample answer: In my view, a good teacher should have different characteristics. First, a good teacher should be faithful and dedicated to the job. If a teacher is faithful to the job, then s/he never cheats and will be impartial(偏向)and students will respect such a teacher. If a teacher is dedicated towards his/her work, then s/he will teach with his/her heart. Another most important characteristic of a good teacher is patience. Teachers should never lose their patience in class when students ask questions repeatedly. A teacher should explain each and every aspect of the topic in the easiest way. Most of all, a good teacher should update his/her knowledge ‘cause further learning can make a good teacher re-discover the beauty of the teaching profession. 2. What are important characteristics you look for in friends?(06. 5.12; 06. 6.24; 07.1.27考题) Sample answer: I think what makes a good friend is someone who is honest, supportive, and has a good sense of humor. I just look for someone who's honest to me no matter what. He should not tell stories behind my back; he should tell me my short-comings at my mouth, but never praises me in front of me. It is a well known saying that "A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED." Therefore, a friend should stand by you in the hour of any sort of need. I just think that a good friend won't leave me if I'm in trouble. They can be my friends in sunshine and in shade, care for me even when the times are bad and even more when the times are great. Also, I'd love to spend more time with someone who can make me laugh and is fun to be around. 3. Describe a person that influenced you most.(06. 5.26; 06. 3. 17;06.10.22考题;与06.5.26类似) Sample answer: The person that really influenced me most was Ms. Xing---my college teacher who taught us English literature. Her class was quite different from the other teachers. In her class we were not expected to sit there and listen. We had to get more involved in the class activities, like discussions, comments or debates sometimes. Our creativity and imagination were developed enormously through the active participation. On the other hand, she let us think more about life by sharing her experiences and more importantly, she taught me how to live on my own. So that's why I was greatly influenced. Not only did she give me knowledge, but also she gave me courage and confidence as well.

12月10日托福口语真题

12月10日托福口语真题 T1: which of the following three behaviors would you consider the most negative for kids? Being selfish, saying impolite things or speaking loudly in the public? I would say that speaking loudly might have the most negative impact on kids, as it could be pretty annoying and disturbing to others, and without being aware of this, the kids might have the bad habit of ignoring others’feeling in the long term. Imagine that you are watching a movie in a cinema or listening to a concert in a hall, a naughty boy is talking loudly over the phone or chatting with his friends all the way without caring about others, it could be a real nightmare. And this has happened a lot to me, for example last time when I went to see The Dallas Buyers Club, a bunch of kids were talking so loudly from the very beginning of the movie that I could barely catch a word from Ron Woodroof, and all the other viewers got so annoyed and disappointed for that. T2: Do you agree or disagree that to succeed we need to make enemies? Well I disagree with the opinion, coz it’s true that most of the time we do face a lot of competitors and rivals in order to succeed, but it doesn’t mean that we have to make enemies. Let’s take a look at LA Lakers, when Kobe Bryant joined Lakers as a Shooting Guard in 1996, he was facing a lot of equally strong competitors like Allen Iverson and Ray Allen, but at that time Shaquille O’Neal was already the second-to-none Center in the whole association. At the beginning, Shaquille and Kobe
