昨晚给几个学生做了pets口试的模考,一共4个学生,3个考三级,一个考2级。虽然只是4个学生,但结束后却感慨良多。在此小做总结,希望能帮到周末即将要上考场的同学。

1.考生对口试的流程一定要和考官一样熟悉。

总共多少分钟,一共几个阶段,每个阶段会出什么性质的图片或问题,什么时间要求等等。还有就是对考官的“指导用语”要相当熟悉,这些“套话”是所有考官都必须说而且只能说的,在上培训班的时候老师都会培训这部分内容,考生完全可以把这几句话背下来,这样考官要做什么,要说什么你都有数,不会紧张。

另外一个需要注意的是,考官的指导用语中会有对图片内容的描述,这是至关重要的,因为,PETS考试的图片都是黑白的而且画的非常不规则,想象力不丰富的人有时根本看不出到底画的是什么。而考官会在指导用语中说道:“ candidate A, here is your picture , this picture shows four different ways of keeping

fit .....talk to each other ...."如果考生仔细听考官的这段话,你就可以很容易判断出图片的内容,而且知道你被要求做什么。

2.遵守考官指令。

PETS考试的时间控制比较严格,考官在每一部分开始之前都会告诉你有多少时间完成,“到时候会打断你,不要担心。”有的考生在考官说了“sorry , time is up "之后,仍然滔滔不绝,极力想在争取一些表现的机会。这种情况下,你只能得到考官再次提醒,并打断。你的举动直接影响到考官对整个流程时间的掌控,不会对你的“锲而不舍”留下任何好处的。

其次,很多考生为了有更多的时间去理解手中的图片或者准备要说的材料,过分自我投入,对于考官的指令不予理睬,考官的最后一句话一般是:“ would you like to begin now ?",而很多考生对此不置可否,仍然低头沉思在图片的理解当中,这个时候考官会自动开始计时的,考生不确认开始时间会被认为是故意“拖时间”,或者连指导用语也听不懂,那后果可想而知了。

3.与partner之间的互动。

PETS考试时,大部分情况,作为考生,你身边都有一个partner。这个人的水平怎样你是不知道的,也不知道性格怎么样。所以有的考生在进行“talk to each other "环节的时候,只顾着自己发挥,结果发现身旁那人一句没插上不说,自己根本连续说不了三分钟的英语。其实在这种场合下,有效地和partner互动是非常关键的。首先可以化解紧张,我们都有体会,当我们自己做一件紧张的事情的时候,如果能拉来另外一个人一起参与,就会感觉好很多。口试也一样,当你说上两句后,主动转向身旁的人说:“ what do you think ?”或者“what is your opinion ?”这会把你的紧张进行转移,同时也会给自己加分,因为语言互动这本身就是对语言流利使用的表现。

4.对时间的把控。

建议考生在考试前,对3分钟和一分钟以及一分钟半这样的时间段真实地感受一下到底有多长。最好看着表感受一下,因为在考场上,由于紧张,很难拿捏好时间,能够比较精确地估计是很关键的。很多考生在拿到图片后,一下子有了很多想法,意识流源源不断,即兴发挥,把题目开的很大,想从日常生活一直讲到国际社会,结果说了三句就被考官无情打断,枉费了你的好口才。其实,所有的图片,对考生只有那么几个简单的要求:

首先描述,也就是:what is on the picture ? 是人还是物在干什么呢发生的地点是哪里什么时间

然后是你的观点,图片上的事情对于你来说是好还是不好,要不要提倡,为什么等等。这些足够一分半钟了

再谈到另一个问题,就是当你的partner结束一分半钟的讲话后,你需要做半分钟的补充,这个时候更不要想着发挥了,最好的策略是对你partner的内容进行简单“评价”,一般我们会说“well , I agree with him or her,I feel same !......"或者:“ yeah, she or he is right , we should ....”诸如此类的简单评价有很多,都很实用,因为只有半分钟,你什么不说很可惜,说的多了有会被打断,当然也有可能你根本没有听懂你身旁的人讲了什么,妄加评论会出笑话的。

如果你身旁的人水平很低,根本就没说什么,那你的半分钟就直接说:“I think this picture shows *****, in my opinion , we should ......"要简洁,保证您在半分钟内完成你的陈述。好了,我也就想到这么多,只是我个人的一些观点,不知是否能对考试的朋友们有帮助。

l???????阅读(35分)

得分大项。该部分所需时间约为50分钟。

文章广泛地选自近期发表的文字材料,其形式与内容都是真实的。该部分中各篇

文章的长度根据其题型要求从400词至850词不等。总阅读量约3000词。

A节(15题):要求考生根据所提供的3篇文章的内容(各长400-500词),

从每题(一篇文章有五题)所给的4个选择项中选出最佳选项。和平常的四六

级考试题型一样。每个1分.

B节(5题):本部分内容为一篇长750-850词的文章,其中有5段文字为空白,

文章后有6段文字,要求考生根据文章内容从6段文字中选择能分别放进文章中

5个空白处的5段。每个2分。这个题如果错一个就可能都错,另外本题用时短

得分高,是兵家必争之题,要多练习,起码要做完《全国英语等级考试系列用书

考核内容详析与辅助练习(第5级)》中的本题。如果觉得还有待提高,就买本考

研阅读做做,考研阅读也有这个题。

C节(10题):要求考生根据所提供的1篇文章(750-850词)的内容,完成

10道选择搭配题。该部分所需时间约为50分钟。比如,题目中有三篇文章,

分别讲宝马、奔驰、沃尔沃轿车的特性和一些细节,题目中列出车的细节,让你

选是那一辆车。个人感觉这个题比较简单,一般我都不会错。关键要训练自己的

寻读能力,不明白的可以找一本雅思阅读来看看怎么找标志词和关键词。(我是

先考pets5,后考雅思的,学完雅思觉得阅读有很大提高)。起码要做完《全国

英语等级考试系列用书考核内容详析与辅助练习(第5级)》中的本题。

总之阅读是得分大项,千万要重视,不可掉以轻心。

l???????写作(25分)

要求考生根据主题性或情景性的提示或问题写一篇约250词的短文。

个人感觉pets5的作文和雅思A类的大作文一样,主要以优劣类和同意不同意类

为主,建议买一本雅思作文好好复习。作文不是很难,关键是要掌握写作的套路,

有条件的可以参加雅思写作班,你将收益匪浅。作文要注意思路要清晰,先在脑

子里构思一下再写,不要想起什么就写什么。另外对于文中反复出现的词要注意

同义词的替换,如缺陷:disadvantage, detect, demerit, drawback, downside, weakness解决:solve, resolve, deal with, cope with, handle, tackle等

等,要注意平时注意背一些。

Ps:好要背一些套话。如讲到两分法时,几乎每个同学都写Every coin has two

sides.判卷每天看到这样的话心里什么感觉,还会给高分么其实有很多套话可以

替代如:In fact, no yardstick is available to merely advocate its

advantages while put its disadvantages aside in view of the fact that all

the objectives are the composition of pros and cons.(实际上,没有一种

标准能仅仅提倡它的优点而忽视其缺点,因为世间万物都是优点和缺点的集合

体)。这句话不仅有文采,而且对于没话说的同学可以凑字数,比 Every coin has

two sides.好多了。我这里仅仅是举个例子,大家不要都用这个,要不太泛滥了

也得不了高分。

l???????口试(5分,不计入笔试成绩)

每次口试采取两名口试教师和两名考生的形式。一名口试教师不参与交谈,专事

评分;另一名主持口试,随时与考生交谈并评分。专事评分的教师所给分数的权

重占考生口试成绩的三分之二,主持口试的教师所给分数的权重占考生口试成绩

的三分之一。

A节:考查考生理解一般性问题并能恰当地回答这些问题的能力。考官问一些有

关考生生活、工作、学习等自我介绍方面的问题。该节约需2分钟时间。

B节:考查考生用英语进行讨论的能力。该节的形式有解决问题、排序、角色扮

演、讨论、决策、或就两个完全相反的观点阐述自己的观点等。该节约需5分钟

时间。

C节:考查考生连续表达的能力。考生分别从所给的三个话题中选择一个话题进

行连续表达,并就此话题互相提问、回答。该节约需8分钟时间。

PETS 第五级考试由笔试试卷和口试试卷组成。笔试试卷(140分钟)分四部分:

听力、英语知识运用、阅读理解和写作。口试试卷(15分钟)分三节考查考生

的口语交际能力。笔试和口试都使用英文指导语。

口语不可掉以轻心,买本专门的pets5口语好好看看。曾经一个口语不错的同学

(和老外交流无障碍)因为轻敌而考2分。

全国英语等级考试PET简介 一、全国英语等级考试(PETS)的性质和特点“全国英语等级考试”(PublicEnglishTestSystem,简称PETS),是经中华人民共和国教育部(简称教育部,下同)批准,由教育部考试中心设计、开发的,面向社会以全体公民为对象的开放型的非学历性考试。其特点是:第一,它是一个覆盖不同层次需要的、拥有五个级别的目标参照性考试体系,可对不同类型、不同水平考生的英语水平进行可靠的横向比较。考生不受职业、年龄和学历背景等方面条件的限制,可以根据自身英语学习的实际情况报考相应的级别。第二,运用各种考查手段,能确保全面考察考生听、说、读、写的语言交际能力,尤其是对听、说方面的考查较为完善。第三,能科学界定各种考查要求的关系,在同一能力量表的基础上合理设置各级考生的评价标准并给出详尽说明。今后,这一考试将逐步改造高考、研究生入学考试、大学英语四、六级考试和其他各类行业内部英语考试,替代出国人员留学考试(EPT)、自考公共课程英语和中等职业学校英语等级考试,同时为干部的英语培训、考核及劳动用工提供可靠、科学的依据。第四,与其他类型的英语考试相比,全国英语等级考试具有较高的信度和效度。采用了现代化的考试技术和手段,能确保相同级别不同考次之间考生成绩的等值,使考试成绩更为科学、公平、准确。二、PETS的等级划分情况根据英语学习者的水平差异和用人单位的不同要求,考试等级由低到高分为一、二、三、四、五级,另外,一级还有一个附属级:一级B。一级(PETS1)初始级,通过该级别考试的考生,其英语基本符合诸如出租车司机、宾馆行李员、门卫、交通警等工作,以及同层次其他工作在对外交往中的基本需要。可替代原中等职业学校系统英语等级考试(二级)。二级(PETS2)中下级,通过该级别考试的考生,其英语水平基本满足进入高等院校继续学习的要求,同时也基本符合诸如宾馆前台服务员、一般银行职员、涉外企业一般员工,以及同层次其他工作在对外交往中的基本需要。该级别的考试标准已改造高考的英语科考试。笔试成绩可免考高教自学考试公共课英语(一)。三级(PETS3)中间级,通过该级别考试的考生,其英语已达到高等教育自学考试非英语专业本科毕业水平或符合普通高校非英语专业本科的要求,基本符合企事业单位行政秘书、经理助理、初级科技人员、外企职员的工作,以及同层次其他工作在对外交往中的基本需要。笔试成绩可免考高教自学考试公共课英语(二)。四级(PETS4)中上级,通过该级别考试的考生,其英语水平基本满足攻读高等院校硕士研究生非英语专业的需要,基本符合一般专业技术人员或研究人员、现代企业经理等工作对英语的基本要求。该级别考试标准已用于改造研究生入学考试中的英语考试。一级B类(PETS1B)一级的附属级,单词量低于500,主要测试考生最基本的交际场合所涉及的交际能力,适用于行业内部英语学习和大面积普及英语的需要。这几个级别的考试标准建立在同一能力量表上,相互间既有明显的区别又有内在的联系。有关该项考试各个级别的设计标准、考试要求可参见教育部考试中心编写的《全国英语等级考试(PETS)考试大纲》。三、考试的形式每个级别的考试都包括笔试和口试两种形式,笔试中包含听力测试内容。考试采用先笔试,后口试的方式,笔试的题型主要有客观性试题和主观性试题两类。口试采用面对面交谈的方式,每次口试采用由两名口试教师对两名考生(一级B是一名考生)进行测试的形式。测试时,一名口试教师不参与交谈,专事评分,另一名主持口试,随时与考生交谈并评分。四、报考的条件考生不受年龄、职业、学历、性别、民族等条件的限制,任何人都可以根据自身学习英语的实际情况报名参加其中任一级别的考试,不要求考生在具有较低级别的证书后才
