In Jinzhong, Shanxi Province, there is a group of people who are busy drawing maps around. They are not workers on geography, but dispatchers(调度员)in Emergency(急救)Center of the city.
Since 2007, the dispatchers in the center have been drawing maps of the local areas.
“A dispatcher's job is counted in seconds,” says Liang Ruimei, a dispatcher in the center. She has been working in the center since it started in 2007. “We must answer the phone in 3 seconds, get clear information about the patient in 60 seconds and dispatch(调度)emergency medical workers in 3 minutes at most. Stephen Hawking was born in England in 1942. He is one of the most well－known scientists on space and time in the world. Hawking is researching how the universe began and how it ends. He is called the King of the Universe.
When he studied math and science at Oxford University, he became seriously ill, which made him unable to speak or breathe without the help of machines. he could't move or feed himself and he was helped to dress, eat and wash by a nurse. However, he had a wheelchair with a special computer, with which he can communicate with others.
In spite of all these difficulties, he refused to give up his hope of living and went on to study at Cambridge University after graduating from Oxford University. In 1965, he got a Doctor's Degree of Philosophy. Because of his serious illness, it was difficult for him to draw diagrams or to write. So he started to think in pictures. With this new way of thinking, he is respected by people in the world. Then in 1988, he wrote his first important book, A Brief History of Time. It has been sold more than 5.5 million copies in 33 different languages. He was once invited to China to give lectures. His self－confidence and humorous conversations impressed us deeply.

A good book can be satisfying, can improve your knowledge and can teach you a lot. There are several ways to develop a lifetime reading habit.
Set times. You should have a few set times every day when you'll read for at least 5—10 minutes, no matter what happens. For example, make it a habit to read after breakfast and lunch(and even dinner if you eat alone)．

Hernando has found a wonderful way to spend his free time. He's set up a public library right outside his home. The local children are allowed to borrow as many books as they like and return them whenever they want.
In Hernando’s hometown, many children drop out of school to make money to support their families. “I want to do something to help them, ”H ernando said.

Do you often put off doing something that you should be doing? It's a bad habit called procrastination(拖延症) . Most of the tasks that you procrastinate on aren't actually difficult to do you have the skills to complete them-you just don't want to start them for one reason or another.

On Sept. 19,2014 Alibaba went public on the New York Stock Exchange(纽约证券交易所), raising $25 billion through an IPO(公司股票的首次公开发行), the biggest in the US history. I am Canadian. I started learning French when I was 10 years old. But my whole experience with the language was in the classroom. All of that changed, however, during my last summer of high school. As a 17-year-old girl, I flew across the country by myself for the first time! I headed for Quebec to live in the province with a French-speaking host family, who didn't speak any English. And I would learn French at a local school.
On the first day of school, all of us students were given a test to determine(测定)our language level. We were required to speak only French all summer.
I made every effort to communicate in a second language by making new friends, seeing movies and even ordering food from restaurants in French. Though I couldn't understand most of it at the very beginning, the whole experience was exciting and refreshing.
On weekends, my classmates and I took trips to different places around the province. On one trip, we went whale
watching on the St. Lawrence River. Even though it was raining, we could see huge whales swimming around our boat. The most memorable part of our trip was a visit to historic Quebec City. I walked along the stone streets, took pictures of the European-style(欧式的)buildings, and learned some stories there.
Finally my efforts paid off! At the end of the summer, I was able to

Last month some thieves stole a valuable teapot from a museum in Hong Kong. They took the teapot to America, but the American police found it. The museum sent Mr. Chan, a member of the museum staff, to collect the teapot.
