Good afternoon!
My name is David。I e from Jiangsu Province。Right now I start my own
business in Yiwu city。Today I am very happy to have a chance to share the topic
with all of you。My topic is “cherish what you have right now”。Before my topic ，
I would like to tell you a story。
Long long time ago there was a big mountain。 In the mountain there was a
temple。 In the temple there were two monks。 One is an old monk， the other is a
young monk。One day the old said to the young: “You can go outside of the
mountain to travel around and experience the life of mon people。But you are
required to e back after 10 years。” The young nodded。 He left the mountain and
traveled。 Ten years later，he came back at last。The old monk asked him a
question: “what have you learned in the past ten years?” T he young answered: “
In the past 10 years I have e to know that the most important thing is what I
have lost and what I haven’t got。” The old smiled and said nothing。Time passed
quickly。 One year later，the old said to the young again: “You can tr avel around
again for another 10 years”。 The young followed it。 Another 10 years later， the
young returned。The time the old monk asked him the same question: “What have you
learned in the past 10 years?” The young kept silent for w
hile and sai d: “In the world the most important thing is not what I have
lost and not what I haven’t got but what I have right now。Just cherish it。”
So much for the story。 But the answer in the story is very instructive。
Sometimes it makes me think a lot。“Ju st cherish what you have right now。” It is
a very good idea。But maybe you have the question: What is “cherish”? Could you
tell me the detail meaning? Ok! I tell you the answer。 Cherish means just to
keep it ，to hold it ， to love it and to protect it。For example， you have a nice
popular and fashion IPhone， just cherish it means to keep it well ，to hold it
well， love it well and protect it well。Understand? I see。 You got it。OK! Right
now I have a question for you: What do you have right now? Maybe you will
say “I
have a lot of money。” maybe you will say : “ I have a big house” maybe he will

different answer for it。But it doesn’t matter。 No matter whatever your answer
is， just cherish it。Cherish what you hav
e right now。Cherish your parents，especially when they bee older and
older，give more love to them。 Otheriwse you will have more regrets。Cherish your
family members，especially your children。Try your best to spare and spend more
time to be with them。Otherwise，you don t have chance to regret it。Cherish your
friends，especially when they are in trouble。 Spare no efforts to help them
out。Otherwise your friends will go away from you one

It is really my honor to have this opportunity for a interview，I hope i can
make a good performance today。 I m confident that I can succeed。 Now i will
introduce myself briefly。
I am 26 years old，born in shandong province 。
I was graduated from qingdao university。 my major is electronic。and i got
my bachelor degree after my graduation in the year of 2003。
I spend most of my time on study，i have passed CET46 。 and i have acquired
basic knowledge of my major during my school time。
In July 2003， I begin work for a small private pany as a technical support
engineer in QingDao city。Because I m capable of more responsibilities，so I
decided to change my job。 And in August 2004，I left QingDao to BeiJing and
worked for a foreign enterprise as a automation software test engineer。Because I
want to change my working environment， I d like to find a job which is more
challenging。 Morover Motorola is a global pany， so I feel I can gain the most
from working in this kind of pany ennvironment。 That is the reasonwhy I e here
to pete for this position。
I think I m a good team player and I m a person of great honesty to others。
Also I am able to work under great pressure。

Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What
is success? It is what everyone is longing for.Sometimes success would be rather
simple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success;
making a new friend is success; even now I am standing here giving my speech is
somehow also success.
However, as a person’s whole life is concerned, success becomes very
complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social status success?
No, I don’t think so. I believe success is the realization of people’s hopes
and ideals.Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who are
regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem are
money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s success
and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is real
success. We all know there are always more money, higher position and better
condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will
satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must need
something inside, which is the realization of people’ hopes and ideals.
Different people have different ideas about success; cause people’s hopes
and ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear to
everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving
for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened
by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense
of responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud
have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success,
cause I raise up to challenge my hope.
What is success? Everyone has his own interpretation as I do. But I am sure
every success leads to an ever-brighter future. So ladies and gentlemen, believe
in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a successful
life!

It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturday
morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the English
About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech
Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at
me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in
vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this
Competition, I said “no.” I could n’t endure yet another painful experience. He
looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart.
I will
never forget h is words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have
yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to
ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will.
winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I
made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and
take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once
again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is
dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the
difference!

I also want to use my good English to introduce our GREat places to the
English spoken people,I hope that they can love our country like us.
I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard

If you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. So I
believe as I love English everyday , it will love me too.
