Introduction
A lot of crime is against bicycles. About 150,000 bicycles are stolen every year and most are never found. You can prevent this happening by following a few careful steps.
Basic Security

How should one invest a sum of money in these days of inflation? Left in a bank it will hardly keep its value, however high the interest rate. Only a brave man, or a very rich one, dares to buy and sell on the Stock Market. Today it seems that one of the best ways to protect your savings, and even increase your wealth is to buy beautiful objects form the past. Here I am going to offer some advice on collecting antique clocks, which I personally consider are among the most interesting of antiques.
I sometimes wonder what a being from another planet might report back about our way of life. Whether or not we are slaves of time today depends on our culture and personality, but it is believed that many years ago kings kept special slaves to tell the time. Certain men were very clever at measuring the time of clay according to the beating of their own hearts. They were made to stand in a fixed place and every hour or so would shout the time. So it seems that the first clocks were human beings.
However, men quickly found more convenient and reliable ways of telling the time. They learned to use the shadows cast by the sun. They marked the hours on candles, used sand in hour-glasses, and invented water-clocks. Indeed, any serious student of antique should spend as much time as possible visiting palaces, stately homes and museums to see some of the finest examples of clocks from the past.
Antique clocks could be very expensive, but one of the joys of collecting clocks is that it is still possible to find quite cheap ones for your own home. After all, if you are going to be ruled by time, why not invest in an antique clock and perhaps make a future profit?

Over the past 15 years, technologies that have combined computers with telephone have developed. Technologies such as PC fax programs and LAN fax servers have been used to improve fax communications. The latest computer-based technologies are new mechanisms (机制) which use IP (Internet Protocol) to send faxes, that is, IP fax.
Traditional fax has a fairly simple usage model. First, the user inserts a document into the fax machine, enters the destination fax number and presses the start button on the machine. The sending machine dials the receiving fax machine. If it connects, the sending machine scans the documents and sends it over the public switched telephone network (PSTN) to the receiving machine. At the same time, the receiving machine receives the document and then prints it.
In IP fax system there are two basic transmission modes: store-and-forward mode and realtime mode. Sore-and-forward mode has been widely used. In this mode, the entire document is sent to a network-based server that stores it and then sends it to the destination. Real-time IP faxing is similar to traditional fax. Realtime mode allows two fax machines to directly communicate through some standard.
IP fax enables a fax document to be sent from one person to another. A fax machine or a computer can be
used to send or receive the fax. IP fax also allows e-mail to be used to receive faxes. This would enable users to receive faxes anywhere, anytime with an Internet fax address.

高三英语期末考试试卷分析 一、试卷特点 本次考试命题的范围、题型以及分值分布和高考试卷相同，也基本体现了高考的命题思路：突出语篇、强调应用、注重交际。试题除完形填空难度较高外，其它题目难度适中，市平均为94，与高考全国卷难度基本相当，试卷上没有出现偏题和怪题，难、中、易题比例适当，有较好的区分度，能真实地反映出学生的语言运用能力，所以这份试卷具有较高的信度和效度。试卷的一些话题，如对话填空，书面表达等，均与牛津高中英语新教材的相关话题相结合。 二、主要失分点及原因分析 （一）各大项得分情况汇总 （本表主要根据省溧中部分学生试卷抽样样本为依据） 从本次考试来看，完形填空和对话填空的失分率较高，说明学生的基础知识还不够扎实，我们在平时的教学中应更注重知识积累。
（二）各项试题失分情况及分析 第一部分：听力 听力题以考查学生简单处理信息的能力为主，另外还考查了学生的归纳综合能力、口语理解能力、以及综合素质能力，其分布如下：
1、5、18等题较为灵活，设置的陷阱很隐蔽，对学生的迷惑性较大，故得分率较低。总体而言，试题难度不大，但得分仅为20.9，我们在以后的教学中要加强听力训练和指导，培养预测能力，通过句子重音来捕捉关键信息能力，以及重视语感的训练和语言的积累。 第二部分：单项选择 考查项目以动词和各种从句为主，其它项目的考查分布均匀，与高考类型基本相符合。 考查目标题号题量 考查能力
