I was so excited. Guess what? It was my Dad's 40th birthday last month. And so he took us all to London for
a weekend. Coolly, we flew over on Thursday evening. As soon as we arrived, we went on a tour of the city.
They say London is really beautiful by night, and I was really looking forward to seeing all those famous places.
On Friday, we went to the Design Museum. It’s not far from our hotel, so we went there on foot. In the afternoon, we visited the London Eye. I was amazed at seeing the Big Ben from up there. Saturday was for shopping.
There is no doubt about that. We went to the most famous shops in London. Dad didn't feel like shopping, but he enjoyed it when we were there. On Sunday morning, we took a taxi to Hyde Park, and we went home by train in the afternoon. It was my dream trip, and it did happen.

高考英语听力解题方法参考 试听文题，调整心理 听力测试要求同学们有较好的心理素质。由于听力内容有即时性和不可重复性，录音结束后无法再现信息，同学们必须即时听辨、思考和解答，因此很多同学参加听力考试时，总是显得很紧张，难以静心。同学们必须调整好心态，尤其应利用听力试音的机会，让自己全身心进入角色。 读题预测，细节莫失 答好听力题的重要前提和保证是在听录音之前先阅读试题。听音前五分钟，要看清大小题目要求、问题与选项，不要放过任何一个细节。在浏览问题和选项时，要尽可能对文章内容和试题答案进行预测，听录音时只要验证自己的预测就可以了。同时由于选项和试题中的短语、句子可能会在听力内容里出现，因此，认真读题还可以提高听的质量。 扩展阅读：英语听力教材选取的方法 方法1. 不要选择专业术语、专有名词较多的材料。 专业术语之类难词、生僻词对于绝大部分同学来说不需要掌握，因此练习时可以忽略掉。而如果选择的材料中这类词汇较多的话，无疑给自己设置了很多不必要的“拦路虎”，会影响练习的流畅性，应予以避免。 方法2. 注意语段材料的时效性，时效性越强越值得练习。 不宜听写已经过时的英语(课程)语汇内容。如一些出自名家之手的英语美文，文采固然是好，但可能是百多年前创作的作品，其中一些用词，可能现代英语中已经不用了，或者用词比较艰深晦涩，这种材料就只适合单纯欣赏，和同学平时的英语使用情况相去甚远，对大家所面临的考试更是没有针对性，不适合用来练习听写。 方法3. 基础不佳者不宜用影视剧对白练习听写。 这类材料可能含有过多口头语或俗语，且语速非常之快，对于英语程度不扎实，听写能力有待提高的同学来说很难听懂，更别提听写了。对于面向四六级(课程)的大部分同学而言，影视剧作品是可以作为听力和口语的练习素材的，但前提是，不要直接听写，应先结合中文字幕把大意听懂，然后作为泛听材料，单纯地通过听练习一下语感，使自己在听觉上习惯地道的英语语音语调，并起到口语纠音的作用，同时听加深记忆，学习一些剧中的口语表达。 方法4. 刚开始练习时，材料篇幅不宜过长。

听力技巧 一、学会预测 预测是在做听力理解之前根据各种暗示，如所给答案选项，段落或对话标题等已有知识，对即将听到的段落或对话内容进行预测。 1. 从答案选项中预测： Q: What does Tom do? A. He’s a truck driver. B. He’s a ship captain. C. He’s a pilot. 录音原文：W: Tom flew to Anchorage last night, then took some passengers from there to Dallas . M: Yeah, but he couldn't land because the airport in Dallas was snowed in. 从选项看，问题应是关于职业方面的，再从flew, passengers, airport 这些信息词中可知道Tom的职业。 2. 从说话人口气预测： “Sure”， “I agree”，在A,B两人的对话中，如果B是附和或赞成，往往说“Yes”， “I think so”等。但如A用否定句，B表同意时则用“No”，“Neither / Nor?”等。 例如：A: Harvey doesn't seem to fit into this class. B: No, he is really a fish out of water. 二、做简要笔记听录音时快速，准确，简要地记下有关信息(包括数字，人名，地名，关键词)，前提是不要影响跟听速度，采用自己习惯的符号。 例：How much will the man pay for the tickets?
