Life 生活

You wake up in the morning, feeling groggy and disoriented.

You look at yourself in the mirror, fearful to look him straight

in the eye.

You back zero tolerance on boredom, stuffing every vacant

moment with talks, malls and laptops!

You are silent in their eyes, yet the noisiest in yours, for that

inner voice you can hardly hear.

You hang on the rim of the wheel of fortune, going up and down, tasting highs and lows.

Life goes on but it is out of control! Not so soon, nor too late. You open your eyes, stretching your muscles and seeing the whole world beckons to you. You cheat him no more, smile to him , stare at him, knowing he is with you clear up to the end. You celebrate every moment, busy or free; strive not to become a human-doing, be and consider like a human-being! You talk gently, speak forcefully, and argue eloquently, because a mind in peace functions with effortless ease. You break free, make it to the hub, center your life on the bliss. Let it go! Let it flow! Life still is, but you got a big role!

Next happiness, when will come?

Life is full of confusing and disordering. Particular

time, a particular location. Do the arranged thing of ten

million times in the brain. Step by step , the life is hard to

avoid delicacy and stiffness. No enthusiasm forever. No

unexpected happening of surprising and pleasing. So, only

silently ask myself in mind. Next happiness, when will

come?

When our family relationship, friendship, love and personal relationship became four cups of different thick and subtle tea. At push a cup to change, always have absentminded hesitation: Which on earth cup that is supposed to be first degusted in the best taste time ,which final cup ? Then different people always have different choices. Big customs under the small customs are always not allowed, stick to a final

twist, always wish to obtain an additional happiness

Dark light, just light each other. The responsibility that your and my shoulders take together, such as one dust covers up. Afraid only afraid the light is suddenly put out in the endless dark night and countless loneliness.

Always insisting. Use iron scoop is too cold; Use porcelain scoop is too weak; A wood scoop, engraved veins safely, engraved sky’s wasteland and glebe’s old. Just as happiness born in the years, not insolent, the every act and move blooms quietly Hope is always more than expectation, engrave a bone is a fat lot looked clear can touch, just don’t know where end is. Cannot find to come to the road of hour, just because of eying feet too carefully.

Then the wandering soul wild crane stands still the memory river. Listen to whistle play tightly ring slowly. Water rises a ship to go medium long things of the past. Wait for a ship’s person. Wait for one and another, but always hesitate which ship should ascend. Missed had to consign the hope to next time. Finally what to wait for until has no boats and ships to come and go. Sunset west.

Six words really talk to solve each round to return to bitterness. Heart of lotus opens, body side of genial breezes walks. Constantly, only one pond water. Ripple but have no language, guarded happiness of this pond. This is from cradle to grave one a life time.

Happiness is so much simple, on your center of palm, a match a hand can grasp; Happiness is also very difficult, before your heel, a thousand mountains and rivers but blunder away because of doing not turn a head.

Never believe, next will be better. Blunder away, never repair return of regret.

Even meet the god of shining in a dream. Never ask: “Next happiness, when will come?”

Remembering why we are doing something

Sometimes I forget why I’m doing, what I’m doing.

Have you ever done that? I am not just talking about a

memory problem, although that’s possible, too.I have

called someone because I want to tell them something.

Just choosing the place for a while, not talking about

anything particular. Well, I forget why I called that

person in the first place. That’s a memory problem. I

guess that counts, too. But I’m talking about a deeper problem, a bigger, why? At one point, there was a reason why we do something. For long-term projects, we need to remind ourselves of that reason. It’s always could to ask ourselves why. Why did I start to learn a language? Why did I join this club? Why my friend was this person? Why did I get married? If we get lost in the doing, in the living, in the everyday of being, then we cannot say why. I think we indeed need remind us of why. Or else it’s tough to finish what we started. We stop starting. We quit the club. We end our friendships. There’s nothing wrong with asking why. In fact, sometimes I think it can be very healthy and help us appreciate what we have and what we are doing. Talk about the following topics. Is there something you are doing but you’ve forgotten why you start it?

Is it a kind of distant memory? Did you ever forget why you are doing something...

How do you remind yourself why you are doing something? Do you write memos? Does your mind ever go blank and yourself may forget what you are doing? What are some other methods for you to prevent yourself from forgetting? What do you do when you see someone that you know, but have forgotten his name?

Learn to Live at the Present Moment

To a large degree, the measure of our peace of mind is

determined by how much we are able to live at the present

moment. Irrespective of what happened yesterday or last year,

and what may or may not happen tomorrow, the present

moment is where you are—always.

Without question, many of us have mastered the neurotic

art of spending much of our lives worrying about a variety of things—all at once. We allow past problems and future concerns dominate our present moments, so much so

that we end up anxious, frustrated, depressed and hopeless. On the flip side, we also postpone our gratification, our stated priorities, and our happiness, often convincing that “someday”will be much better than today. Unfortunately, the same mental dynamics that tell us to look toward the future will only repeat themselves so that “someday” never actually arrives. John Lennon once said, “Life is what is happening while we are busy making other plans.” When we are busy making ‘other plans’, our children are busy growing up, the people we love are moving away and dying, our bodies are getting out of shape, and our dreams are slipping away. In short, we miss out on life.

Many people live as if life is a dress rehearsal for some later date. It isn’t. In fact, no one has a guarantee that he or she will be here tomorrow. Now is the only time we have, and the only time that we have any control over. When we put our attention on the present moment, we push fear from our minds. Fear is the concern over events that might happen in the future—we won’t have enough money, our children will get into trouble, we will get old and die, whatever.

So people on a lifetime

I used to say, “so people on a lifetime” to remind myself and persuade friends. This, easy to say, sounds easy, think it is very deep. It

makes me weak at the time to become brave, proud at the

time to become humble, decadence has become active, the

pain becomes joy when, on any matter can also get fit, so I

call it “a wake-up call”“Proverbs on the seventh. ”—I

often think the world of the laboring, grudges and

resentment, if not resolve, and should not endure, and do not have this short period of several decades vanish on it? If so, what ones cannot be untied?

People on such a life, thought of this remark, if I were the hero, I would have to create more great exploits; if I were the scholars, I would have to access to higher

learning; what if I love people, I would have to boldly tell her. Today because the past will no longer come; this in our lifetime past, everything disappeared. Not read a book, did not speak a word is no chance. This precious life, I will have a good grasp of it.

People on such a life, you can actively grasp it; the ground it can also take it lightly. Take things too hard about it, so relieved now! Think about it when the spirit of decadence to your Thanksgiving! However, because you are always blessed with this life, this should not have been in vain.

Lessons learning from daily life

When I was a child, I always like reading fairy tales

about heroes who were good, who had to go through

many difficult situations often battling the bad guys

before he or she lived happily ever after. I grew up

thinking that the good always trumped over the evil.

Hollywood films are like that, too. No matter what the

arts usually win in the end; No matter what happens in

the movie, you can assume at the end the good guys win.

Well, even though the stories are not so realistic and even though we rarely face the tasks, there are some similarities we share with the heroes of the stories or the movies. We learn lessons every day. Just like the characters in them, there are lessons to be learned from my daily adventures. Sometimes the adventures are ordinary, but the experience is ...The more experience we have and the more lessons we learn, the better we can function and the adventures just can be easier, or at least we can take on bigger challenges or at least avoid making the same mistakes.

Fallen Flowers Without Trace

To me, it was supposed a fine day. The sunshine in

May warmly embraced the earth in her arms. It was

already the time when the Spring was approaching to its

end and flowers were fading away; nevertheless, in the

courtyard, a tung tree was still in full blossom. The light

pink flowers hung on all the branches like the wind-bells

in a dreamland, with a silky faint fragrance filled in the

air all over the yard. Out with a small chair, I seated

myself leisurely under the tung flowers.

A small breeze stole in, slightly and gently at first, with the light pink flowers flying and falling softly in the light blue sky, like the elegant melodious sound of Guzheng(a kind of Chinese traditional musical instrument), and the fragrant poetic lines, and the colorful butterflies flying and dancing. I was fascinated in the scene of the dance of the falling flowers. Only after a while, however, the wind was growing stronger, scraping and swinging the beautiful dresses of tung flowers to and fro in the air, and stirring up the fallen flowers and dust spreading all over the street. Soon came down the raindrops, as big as beans, dropping onto my skin, cool and painful. I hurried back to my room and watched on the balcony. The branches were rustling in

the wind and rain, and the flowers on the tree were swaying and falling in succession, which occurred to me the verse that “The wind blows the autumn leaves falling onto the ground, which again are blown up by the wind.” But at the time, I was not brought to the beautiful artistic conception but quite a pity “to appreciate the Spring till ending, only leaving a wet garment with tears. ”These beautiful flowers, once gentle and lovely and voluptuous, having attracted bees and butterflies in a continuous stream, could not withstand the attack of wind and rain, falling down and scattering on the earth, and turned into spring mud with much desolation from the disappearance off flourish and the dreams fading away.

A long time passed before the rain stopped. I walked out of my room, back to the yard, seeing fallen flowers in pieces scatter here and there. I stepped over the broken flowers lightly, when I couldn’t help thinking of the sentim ental mood of a poet in Song Dynasty , standing behind the curtain and chanting the verse:“ A half mu (unit of land measure in China) of tung flowers yard of the worrying rain quietly.”And a mass of melancholy fancy thronged my mind as well. After the baptism of wind and rain, the sky appeared cleaner. The few tenacious flowers left on the tung trees appeared brighter and more gorgeous. And the newly growing leaves now also looked even tender and greener. As the warm sunshine cast onto the earth again, I got feeling bright, too.

The Brick in Your Life

A young and successful executive was traveling down

a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new

Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something.

As his car passed, one child appeared, and a brick smashed into the Jaguar’s side door. He slammed on the brakes and spun the Jaguar back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown.

He jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid and pushed him up against a parked car, shouting, “What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?”

Building up a head of steam, he went on “That’s a new car and that brick you threw is gonna cost a lot of money. Why did you do that? ”

“Please, mister, please, I’m sorry. I didn’t know what else to do! ” pleaded the youngster.

“It’s my brother, ” he said. “He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can’t lift him up.” Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, “Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He’s hurt and he’s too heavy for me.”

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be okay.

“Thank you, sir. And God bless you,” the grateful child said to him. The man then watched the little boy push his brother to the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long walk backs to his Jaguar. He never did repair the side door. He

kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention. Life whispers in your soul and speaks to your heart. Sometimes, when you don’t have the time to listen... Life throws a brick at your head. It’s your choice: listen to the whispers of your soul or wait for the brick!

I do a lot of management training each year for the Circle K Corporation, a national chain of convenience stores. Among the topics we address in our seminars is the retention of quality employees—a real challenge to managers when you consider the pay scale in the service industry. During these discussions, I ask the participants, “What has caused you to stay long enough to become a manager?” Some time back a new manager took the question slowly, with her voice almost breaking, said, “It was a $19 baseball glove.”

Cynthia told the group that she originally took a Circle K

clerk job as an interim position while she looked for something

better. On her second or third day behind the counter, she

received a phone call from her nine-year-old son, Jessie. He

A new study sheds light on what's going on inside our brains when we match our music to our feels, and it looks like sad music can be enjoyable - rather than simply depressing - because it triggers positive memories that can help to lift our mood. Psychologist Adrian North from Curtin University in Australia says there are two groups of possible explanations for why we enjoy listening to sad music like this: one from social psychology, and one from cognitive neuroscience. In terms of social psychology, one way of thinking about this is that we feel better about ourselves if we focus on someone who's doing even worse, a well-known process known as downward social comparison. Everything's going to be okay, because this person is having an even worse day than you are. Another hypothesis from social psychology is that people like to listen to music that mirrors the tone of their current life circumstances – the songs act as a sort of tuning fork for our own situations, and they resonate with us. You Don’t Lack Reason But Action If you ask me what are the things that people should not do no matter how, the

>01 The Language of Music A painter hangs his or her finished picture on a wall, and everyone can see it. A composer writes a work, but no one can hear it until it is performed. Professional singers and players have great responsibilities, for the composer is utterly dependent on them. A student of music needs as long and as arduous a training to become a performer as a medical student needs to become a doctor. Most training is concerned with technique, for musicians have to have the muscular proficiency of an athlete or a ballet dancer. Singers practice breathing every day, as their vocal chords would be inadequate without controlled muscular support. String players practice moving the fingers of the left hand up and down, while drawing the bow to and fro with the right arm -- two entirely different movements. Singers and instrumentalists have to be able to get every note perfectly in tune. Pianists are spared this particular anxiety, for the notes are already there, waiting for them, and it is the piano tuner's responsibility to tune the instrument for them. But they have their own difficulties: the hammers that hit the strings have to be coaxed not to sound like percussion, and each overlapping tone has to sound clear. This problem of getting clear texture is one that confronts student conductors: they have to learn to know every note of the music and how it should sound, and they have to aim at controlling these sounds with fanatical but selfless authority. Technique is of no use unless it is combined with musical knowledge and understanding. Great artists are those who are so thoroughly at home in the language of music that they can enjoy performing works written in any century.

We are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear. Maybe some of our fears are brought on by your own experiences, by what someone has told you, by what you've read in the papers. Some fears are valid, like walking alone in a bad part of town at two o'clock in the morning. But once you learn to avoid that situation, you won't need to live in fear of it. Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions. Fear can destroy fortunes. Fear can destroy relationships. Fear, if left unchecked, can destroy our lives. Fear is one of the many enemies lurking inside us. Let me tell you about five of the other enemies we face from within. The first enemy that you've got to destroy before it destroys you is indifference. What a tragic disease this is! "Ho-hum, let it slide. I'll just drift along." Here's one problem with drifting: you can't drift your way to the top of the mountain. The second enemy we face is indecision. Indecision is the thief of opportunity and enterprise. It will steal your chances for a better future. Take a sword to this enemy. The third enemy inside is doubt. Sure, there's room for healthy skepticism. You can't believe everything. But you also can't let doubt take over. Many people doubt the past, doubt the future, doubt each other, doubt the government, doubt the possibilities and doubt the opportunities. Worse of all, they doubt themselves. I'm telling you, doubt will destroy your life and your chances of success. It will empty both your bank account and your heart. Doubt is an enemy. Go after it. Get rid of it.

Starting a new book is a risk, just like falling in love. You have to commit to it. You open the pages knowing a little bit about it maybe, from the back or from a blurb on the front. But who knows, right? Those bits and pieces aren’t always right. Sometimes people advertise themselves as one thing and then when you get deep into it you realize that they’re something completely different. Either there was some good marketing attached to a terrible book, or the story was only explained in a superficial way and once you reach the middle of the book, you realize there’s so much more to this book than anyone could have ever told you. You start off slow. The story is beginning to unfold. You’re unsure. It’s a big commitment lugging this tome around. Maybe this book won’t be that great but you’ll feel guilty about putting it down. Maybe it’ll be so awful you’ll keep hate-reading or just set it down immediately and never pick it up again. Or maybe you’ll come back to it some night, drunk or lonely — needing something to fill the time, but it won’t be any better than it was when you first started reading it.

The October leaves have fallen on the lake. On bright, calm days they lie in thousands on the now darkening water, mostly yellow flotillas of poplar, floating continuously down from great trees that themselves shake in the windless air with the sound of falling water, but on rainy days or after rain they seem to swim or be driven away, and nothing remains to break the surface except the last of the olive—yellow lily pads that in high summer covered every inch of water like emerald porcelain. The lilies have gone too, the yellow small—headed kind that in bud are like swimming snakes, and the great reeds are going, woven by wind and frost into untidy basket islands under which coot and moorhen skid for cover at the sound of strangers. All summer in this world of water —lilies, the coot and moorhen lived a bewildered life. There was no place where they could swim and all day they could be seen walking daintily, heads slightly aside and slightly down, across the lily-hidden water, as bemused by the world of leaves as they had been in winter by the world of ice. In the clearer water they are more active. The lake is long and unbroken except for two small islands. The birds, as the fit takes them, dash madly up and down it, taking off and touching down it, taking off and touching down like small fussy black sea-planes. Beside them the arrival of the wild duck, at much higher speed, is almost majestic. They plane down, the necks of the drakes shining like royal green satin, with the air of squadrons coming in after long flights from home. It was not until late summer that fishing was possible. The water was so low and clear after drought that fish could be seen in great dark shoals, sunning themselves, shy, impossible to catch. Only in the evening, as the air cooled and the water darkened, and the surface was broken with the silver dances of the rising shoals, would you perhaps get a bite or two, a baby perch sucking at the worm, a roach no bigger than a sardine. All the time, on bright hot mornings especially, great pike would lie out in the middle of the lake in shoals of ten or even twenty, like black torpedoes, transfixed, never moving except in sudden immense rises that rocked the water-surface with rings.

英语美文欣赏50 Run Through the Rain 雨中奔跑 She had been shopping with her Mom in Wal-Mart. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful brown haired, freckle-faced image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the Earth, it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Wal-Mart. We all waited, some patiently, others irritated, because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I get lost in the sound and sight of the heavens w ashing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child come pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day. Her voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in, "Mom, let's run through the rain." she said. "What?" Mom replied. This young child waited about another minute and repeated: "Mom, let's run through the rain." "We'll get soaked if we do." Mom said. "No, we won't, Mom. That's not what you said this morning," the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm."
