Following some of the tips for green living helps save our planet. All of these involve just a few changes to our daily habits.
Just walk and limit the use of your car. One of the poster images of pollution is our vehicles. It burns fuel. It is not as efficient as we hope it could be, and we use it every single day. To lessen the effects of the air pollution caused by our vehicles, we should limit their use. If we can walk to our destination then just let us go. Not only do we lessen our carbon dioxide emissions, but we also get a good exercise out of it.
Use a laptop instead of a computer desktop. Laptops are more energy efficient compared to their bigger counterparts. A laptop is generally 50 percent more efficient in using electricity. Aside from that there are other benefits of a laptop. It is portable so you can work anywhere you like and that you get powerful features without the large size of desktop units.
Turn off the faucet while you are brushing your teeth. It is always a better idea to use a glass when we are brushing our teeth and not to just let the faucet keep on running. Therefore，there is less water to waste while weare cleaning our pearly whites. Simply turn off the faucet when you are not using it.
Make good use of natural light. We have a great and natural lamp --- the sun, and we should learn how to take full advantage of it during daytime. So instead of turning on our lights or lamps even if it is still not evening, we should pull up the drapes and let the natural light come in from the windows.

In a surprising discovery about where higher life can survive, scientists have found a shrimp -like creature and a jellyfish swimming beneath an Antarctic ice sheet.
About 180 meters below the ice where no light can get through, scientists had figured nothing much more than a few microbes (微生物) could exist.
T hat’s why a NASA team was surprised when they lowered a video camera to get the first long look at the underbelly of an ice sheet in Antarctica. A curious shrimp – like creature came swimming by and then parked itself on the camera’s cable. Scientists also pulled up a tentacle (触须) they believe came from a jellyfish.
―We were operating on the presumption that nothing’s there.‖ Said NASA ice scientist Robert Bindschadler. ―It was a shrimp you’d enjoy having on your plate.‖
―We were just gaga (狂热的) over it,‖ he said of the 7.5cm long, orange creature starring in their two –minute video. Technically, it’s not a shrimp. It’s a Lyssianasid amphipod, which is distantly related to the shrimp.
The video is likely to inspire experts to rethink what they know about life in harsh environments. And it has scientists thinking that if shrimp –like creatures can live below 180 meters of Antarctic ice in freezing dark water, what about other cold places? What about Europa, a frozen moon of Jupiter?
Cynan Ellis – Evans, a scientist of the British Antarctic Survey called the finding fascinating. He said it was possible the creatures swam in from far away and don’t live there permanently.
But Kim, who is a co-author of the s tudy, doubts it. ―The site in West Antarctica is at least 19 km from open seas. Bindschadler drilled a 20 cm – wide hole and was looking at a tiny amount of water. That means it’s unlikely that two creatures swam from great distances and were captured rand omly in that small of an area,‖ she said.
Y et scientist were puzzled at what the food source would be for these creatures. While some microbes can make their own food out of chemicals in the ocean, complex life like the shrimp can’t, Kim said.
―So how do they survive? That’s the key question.‖ Kim Sai.
―It’s pretty amazing when you find a huge puzzle like that on a planet where we thought we know everything.‖ Kim said.

David’s Haircut
When David steps out of the front door he is blinded for a moment by the white, strong sunlight and reaches for his dad’s hand automatically.It’s the first really warm day of the year, an unexpected heat that bridges the gap between spring and summer. Father and son are on their way to the barbershop, something they have always done together.
Always, the routine is the same. ―It’s about time we got that mop of yours cut,‖ David’s dad will say, pointing at him with two fingers, a cigarette caught between them. ―Perhaps I should do it. Where are those scissors, Janet?‖ Sometimes his dad runs after him round the living room, pretending to cut off his ears. Behind the sinks are mirrors and on either side of these, shelves overflowing with all types of plastic combs, shaving mugs, scissors, cut throat razors, hair brushes and, 10 bright red bottles of Brylcreem(男士发油), piled neatly in a pyramid. At the back of the room sit the customers, silent for most of the time, except when Mr Samuels breaks off from cutting and smoke his cigarette, sending a stream of grey-blue smoke like the tail of kite twisting into the air.
When it is David’s turn for a cut, Mr Samuels places a wooden board covered with a piece of red leather ac ross the arms of the chair, so that the barber doesn’t have to bend to cut the boy’s hair. David scrambles up onto the bench.
―Hey, young man, you’re shooting up, you won’t need this soon, you’ll be able to sit in the chair,‖ the barber says.
―Wow,‖ says D avid, turning round to look at his dad, forgetting that he can see him through the mirror. ―Dad, Mr Samuels said I could be sitting in the chair soon, not just on the board!‖―So I hear,‖ his father replies, not looking up from the paper.―I expect Mr Samue ls will start charging me more for your hair then.‖
―At least double the price,‖ said Mr Samuels, winking at David.
Finally David’s dad looks up from his newspaper and glances into the mirror, seeing his son looking back at him. He smiles.
―Wasn’t so long ago when I had to lift you onto that board because you couldn’t climb up there yourself,‖ he says.
―They don’t stay young for long do they, kids‖, Mr Samuels declares. All the men in the shop nod in agreement. David nods too.
In the mirror he sees a little head sticking out of a long nylon cape. Occasionally he steals glances at the barber as he works. He smells a mixture of smelly sweat and aftershave as the barber moves around him, combing and cutting, combing and cutting.
David feels like he is in anothe r world, noiseless except for the sound of the barber’s shoes rubbing on the plastic carpet and the click of his scissors. In the ref lection from the window he could see through the window, a few small clouds moved slowly through the frame, moving to the sound of the scissors’ click.
Sleepily, his eyes dropping to the front of the cape where his hair falls softly as snow and he imagines sitting in the chair just like the men and older boys, the special bench left leaning against the wall in the corner. 来的快速反应能力不强。6、7、11、15、17题得分低难度大，原因还在于学生对所听信息的快速反应、捕捉信息、正确理解信息的能力较弱，失分现象严重。 2、单选题： 注重基础，所考查的知识点与课本内容密切相关，突出了对基础知识的考查，其中 21(26%)、25(29%)、29（32%）三道题失分最多，得分率较低。 21题涉及固定词组用法：a stone's throw （一箭之遥），好多同学选择了B. the throw of a stone, 形相近，意义却迥然不同。25题对于set off和set out的用法,学生还是没把握，拿不准。这里的语境考察的是set off作为引发;触发;激起的用法。对于相似词组的辨析一直都是学生掌握的重点也是难点弱点。29题涉及到语法中的代词和定语从句的用法，学生主要是错在代词用法的弱项上。 3、完形填空： 这是一篇叙事性的文章，文章讲述了作者应聘工作途中难忘的一次经历，学生在做题的同时也经受了一场思想的洗礼。完型填空难度系数为0.56。难度不大，主要失分集中在第41(28%)、42(24%)、51、57几道题。词义辨别不清是原因之一，也暴露出的问题是学生对于根据语境的理解和揣测作者意图的能力欠缺。这也为我们老师在以后教学工作中侧重的方向敲响了警钟。 4、阅读理解： 这次考察的阅读文章题材广泛，内容丰富，文章语言地道，但是整体来说这一大题的难度相对较小，文章相对较短，难度系数高达0.63，对于考察学生的阅读水平有一定的局限，另外对于下一阶段的教学也不能起到良好的促进作用。还是要求老师们平时的教学中一定要加大阅读的量和尽可能提高学生的阅读水平。 5．任务型阅读： 此次均分为3.2分。暴露的问题如下： ●不会根据需要选用适当词性。如71题，好多同学写成extend/ lengthen，不能够 根据上下文进行词性的变化。 74题：Supporters’，但是有相当多的同学写成： Supporter's，或者Supportors，，更有甚者写成Supporters，因此失分非常可 惜。 ●单词记忆不够准确。单词拼写错误依然是学生的软肋，对于solution这样的常用 词，一些学生拼成：solation，或者solvtion，字母u和v在书写方面区别不开。 competitive和unnecessary更是知道是此单词；却怎么也写不正确。

高三英语试卷分析(3) 高三英语试卷分析（一） 一、整体情况分析 本次考试听力为20分，笔试为130分.本次考试的命题坚持了“贴近高考，注重语言的情景性、运用性”的试题设计原则，注重考查学生的语言基础知识积累和在语境中运用语言的能力.试卷在选材上注重题材、体裁的多样性，文章内容贴近生活、贴近实际，具有积极的情感态度导向，完全体现了天津卷英语学科高考的命题特点.命题从总体上讲有较好的区分度，能反映出学生的语言运用能力，对下一阶段高三的英语备考工作也有着正确的导向作用. 三、具体题型分析 1、听力部分整体得分较低，原因是听力能力差，次要信息较多，学生易受干扰.总体而言，题目较易、较浅显，听力得分率相对较高.从主要的失分题型中，说明我们在以后的教学中不仅要进一步加强听力训练和方法指导，培养学生的预测和捕捉关键信息，以及综合理解语言信息的能力，还得夯实学生基础，提高学生的语言基本功，从而提高语言理解能力. 2、单项选择：学生对语法方面能力欠缺，其主要原因为高三学生对语法知识有些遗忘，而有些学生干脆就一直未掌握；学生尽管每天都在背词汇，但效果较差，更不能对词汇进行深层掌握.为此，在余下的两个月时间内，我们尽量加强重点词汇的检查力度，并及时归纳总结各种词汇辨析，力求少失分. 3、完型填空：完型是考查学生在阅读理解的基础上对语篇、词汇、语法的综合运用情况.从失分率高的题目可以看出，一方面，个别学生未真正把握整个语篇含义就做题导致失分；另一方面，大部分学生在名词和动词的词义辨析和固定搭配方面掌握仍不牢固，与单选似乎有着同样的问题，今后既要强化完形答题技巧训练又要多方面搜集两大实词的辨析与用法. 4、阅读理解：此次4篇阅读难度适中，学生在查找个别细节、目的归纳、猜测词义、推理判断题上的能力仍然较弱，原因是学生不善于利用有效的信息进行排除和合理的推断，没有掌握如何从整体上、宏观上把握文章的脉络，明确段意，理解文章中心和作者的写作意图的技巧.其它原因：1）部分学生基础薄弱，阅读速度不够，造成阅读时间不足，文章来不及细读.2）学生词汇量不够，造成理解难度增大，解题正确率低.3）分析信息，处理信息能力差，无法合理分析关键信息，提取有效信息，耗费了很多时间，结果事倍功半.4）知识面陕窄.今后应更加注重学生读的能力的训练. 第五部分：任务型阅读 这篇任务型阅读无论是从选材还是题目的设计上来讲都是较为成功的，能够综合考查学生阅读中寻找信息及对信息进行总结、推理以及进行相应的变化等方面的相关能力.难度一般，题目中只有个别根据关键词在文中相关位置直接找出答案的细节题，大部分都需要学生对句子理解后加以适当转换
