Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. Thats it. No big deal. Just three stories. The first story is about connecting the dots.

I dropped out of Reed College after the first six months but then stayed around as a drop-in for another eighteen months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out? It started before I was born. My was a young, unwed graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife, except that when I popped out, they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking, Weve got an unexpected baby boy. Do you want him? They said, Of course. My biological mother found out later that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She

refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would go to college.

This was the start in my life. And seventeen years later, I did go to college, but I chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents savings were being spent on my collegeAfter six months, I couldnt see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, and no idea of how college was going to help me and here I was, spending all the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out, I could stop taking the required classes that didnt interest me and begin dropping in on the ones that looked far more interesting.

It wasnt all romantic. I didnt have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends rooms. I returned Coke bottles for the five-cent deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the seven miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I by following my turned out to be priceless later on.

Let me give you one example.

There is a great person, who transformed our lives, redefined entire industries and achieved one of the rarest feasts in human history. He spent his life packaging that magic into elegantly designed, easy to use products. He even changed the way each of us sees the world. He is Steve Jobs.Everyone maybe is familiar with him, especially with his products--iphone.itouch.ipad.

Steve Jobs was an American businessman, designer and inventor. He is best known as the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Through Apple, he was widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution and for his influential career in the computer and consumer electronics fields. As Apple floundered, Jobs took control of the company and was named interim CEO in 1997, or as he jokingly referred to it, iCEO. Under his leadership, Apple was saved from near bankruptcy, and became profitable by 1998. Over the next decade, Jobs oversaw the development of the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, and iPad and on the services side, the companys Apple Retail Stores, iTunes Store and the App Store. The success of these products and services, providing several years of stable

financial returns, propelled Apple to become the worlds most valuable publicly traded company in 2011. The reinvigoration of the company is regarded by some commentators as one of the greatest business turnaround stories.

If I were a reporter,I will ask Jobs :In his eyes, what is the most important for a entrepreneur.Because I really admire his achievement and another question is that faced with serious canser ,what did he think about? For most of people ,cancer Is a acute attack to ones mental and heart ,but Jobs lead Apple to the climax.

The reason that I want to introduce Steve Jobs is not only because the enormous acomplish, but also because his great personality. The Economisist says: NOBODY else in the computer industry could put on a show like Steve Jobs. His product launches, at which he would stand alone on a black stage and conjure up a magical or incredible new electronic gadget in front of an awed crowd, were the performances of a master showman. All computers do is to do something about cauculation, but do it fast enough and the results appear to be magic, he once explained. He spent his life packaging that magic into elegantly designed, easy to use products.

In retrospect, Mr Jobs was a man ahead of his time during

his first stint at Apple. Computings early years were dominated by technical types. But his emphasis on design and ease of use gave him the edge later on. Elegance, simplicity and an understanding of other fields came to matter in a world in which computers are fashion items, carried by everyone, that can do almost anything. Technology alone is not enough, said Mr Jobs at the end of his speech introducing the iPad, in January 2010. Its technology married with liberal arts, married with humanities, that yields the results that make our hearts sing. It was an unusual statement for the head of a technology firm, but it was vintage Steve Jobs.

He attributed his success to an obsessive attention to detail , his pursuit of perfection and his flair for innovation. He said- I want to make icons do look lick with his tongue; To be able to sleep at night, to the aesthetic and quality throughout the pursuit of excellenceDo not let the noise of others opinions drown your inner voice, heart and intuition to have the courage to listen to the call. - He is Apples The Godfather Jobs. A pirate, a paranoid, a perfect combination of art and technology of IT leaders, a person who changed the world. He said in his youth that he wanted to put a ding in the universe did just that.

The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, its been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.

Michael Dell, CEO and founder Dell Inc., said of Steve Jobss passing Wednesday

Today the world lost a visionary leader, the technology industry lost an iconic legend and I lost a friend and fellow founder. The legacy of Steve Jobs will be remembered for generations to come. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and to the Apple team.

The President of the United States Obama : Steve was among the greatest of American innovators brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.

he transformed our lives, redefined entire industries, and achieved one of the rarest feats in human history: he changed the way each of us sees the world.

Mr. Igers statement:Steve Jobs was a great friend as well as a trusted advisor. His legacy will extend far beyond the products he created or the businesses he built. It will be the

millions of people he inspired, the lives he changed, and the culture he defined. Steve was such an original, with a thoroughly creative, imaginative mind that defined an era. Despite all he accomplished, it feels like he was just getting started.

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, quote them, disagree with them disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing that you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels? We make tools for these kinds of people. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.

A comment of the speech by Steve Jobs at Standford University It is known to us all Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and we all know the lecture by him at Standford University. I’m writing to comment on the famous speech. I think highly of speech especially the sentence which is that“Right now the new is you ,but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away”. How wonderful is the words which give me a lot of illuminations. As follows. Maybe it is dramatic but it is quite true. Although I know my time is limited and I don’t have right to refuse death, but I often forget it. The sentence reminds me of thinking of the thing again which is I wanted to do and I must do. It also gives me alarm that doesn’t waste my valuable time living someone else’s life or I will be living with the results of other people’s think. I will never let the noise of others’ opinions drown out my own inner voice from now on.

We didn’t know much about each other twenty years ago. We were guided by our intuition; you swept me off my feet. It was snowing when we got married at the Ahwahnee. Years passed, kids came, good times, hard times, but never bad times. Our love and respect has endured and grown. We’ve been through so much together and here we are right back where we started 20 years ago – older and wiser – with wrinkles on our faces and hearts. We now know many of life’s joys, sufferings, secrets and wonders and we’re still here together. My feet have never returned to the ground。

比如,乔布斯在XX年斯坦福大学毕业典礼上的演讲中,开篇稍微寒暄之后就进入正题:“today i want to tell you three stories from my life. that’s it. no big deal. just three stories.” 乔布斯在随后的演讲中分别提到,“the first story is about connecting the dots.”“my second story is about love and loss.”“my third story is about death.”

乔布斯在演讲开篇说道:“i am honored to be with you today for your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. truth be told, i never graduated from college. and this is the closest i’ve ever gotten to a college graduation.”

We've been through so much together and here we are right back where we started 20 years ago - older and wiser - with wrinkles on our faces and hearts. We now know many of life's joys, sufferings, secrets and wonders and we're still here together. My feet have never returned to the ground.
